Description

Like all Human Alliance figures, Sideswipe is designed to allow his accompanying human figure, in this case Robert Epps, to ride inside. I wish the wheels were painted, but I'll be painting this guy up anyway. One downside is I have trouble getting him to roll, but personally that's not an issue for me. Unfortunately, some copies of Sideways have very loose ankle joints, meaning he can be quite difficult to stand up. This is due to his very thin leg design, as well as most of the figure's mass being included in and around the upper half of Sideways. However, one can use Sideways's gun to help with his stability by having him holding it down to the point where it touches the surface Sideways is standing on. What should have happened what some clear plastic "shoes" you could clip on his feet for posing. Give him a small toe like side arm (so he could be posed without the clear feet) and make him look like he did in the movie...falling over wheel feet or not.

Sideways's license plate in Revenge of the Fallen reads "269 FPJT". It can be briefly seen twice; however, the only time it's seen in its entirety, just before Sideswipe splices Sideways in half, the letters and numbers are mirrored, implying that the shot was mirrored in editing. First revealed at New York Toy Fair 2018, Transformers Generations: Studio Series (aka Transformers: Studio Series), acts as a celebration under the Generations banner of over ten years of live-action movies, with characters from every movie represented. It has to date also coincided with Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, the sixth and seventh films in the live-action film series. iconic modes – this toy features classic conversion between robot and 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible car modes in 18 steps. Perfect for fans looking for a more advanced converting figure. For kids and adults ages 8 and up. When Audi was looking to win screen time for one of its cars in the summer films during 2009, Ruben Igielko-Herrlich, a marketing consultant from Propaganda Global Entertainment Marketing, helped the company to find an opportunity in Revenge of the Fallen. Ruben talked the movie's staff into finding a role for the Audi R8. Ultimately, an Audi R8 appears in the film as Sideways. Thus, Sideways became the only car Transformer in the movie whose alternate mode is not manufactured by General Motors. [8]I know he's in scale, but this is the first time a figure's size has truly bothered me in this line, because there's just so much great detail here that you need to get in real close to see and appreciate.

Sideswipe's instructions aren't clear as to how his torso is supposed to connect with his chest in robot mode. The torso piece has a square peg on top of it and there is a corresponding square hole between the two screws holding the front of his chest together. Getting his torso section in front of his arm struts can be a somewhat snug fit.

His 2011 Hasbro bio gave him a new quote (one based on what he'd said in the Titan issue quoted up top!) along with a revamped bio that factored in his sniping ability from the console version of the Revenge of the Fallen video game. [7]

Sideswipe's MechTech weapon, a large blaster, can convert to a runed Cybertanium sword with the press of a button. The weapon can be stored in any of the three MechTech ports in either mode, all of which include the spring-loaded filler piece to hide them when not in use. While the box art shows the blade of the flip-out sword painted blue with white Cybertronix runes, the final version opts for bare gunmetal plastic instead. Studio series deluxe class – Transformers Studio series deluxe class figures are 4.5-Inch collectible action figures inspired by iconic movie scenes and designed with specs and details to reflect the Transformers Movie universe. Fans can collect figures inspired by favorite movie scenes to build the cast and pose their figures on their shelf. Studio Series has always allowed fans to reach past the big screen and build the ultimate Transformers collection inspired by iconic movie scenes from the Transformers movie universe. Now, the Studio Series line is expanding to include the epic moments and characters from the classic 1986 The Transformers: The Movie, bringing fans a whole new series of screen-inspired figures to collect! (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.) While it has never been confirmed, the move to include 1986 characters in the Studio Series toyline after three years of continuous focus on the live-action films, was likely done to allow Hasbro and TakaraTomy to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film, without stepping on the toes of the Beast Wars 25th anniversary, which was celebrated as a part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. Evidence suggesting this is the inclusion of some of the film's main characters ( Cyclonus, Rodimus Prime and Galvatron) being sold in the concurrently-ran Kingdom toyline and the shared design aesthetics of the toys between both lines. The code names of many of the other figures, assuming they even had code names, are still unknown, as those toys have (thus far) consistently been listed under their actual characters' names. Meanwhile, a listing for a supposed Voyager Class figure using the code name "Destroyer" later turned out to be a mislabeled Energon Igniters Speed Series Barricade from the Bumblebee movie toy line, with which the Studio Series shares its code names. This character article is a stub and is missing information on their video game appearances. You can help Transformers Wiki by expanding it.
