Apply your lawn moss killer (likely in granular form) and water the lawn after applying your killer. This is a series that I have and continue to enjoy and I really hope that this isn’t planned to be the last that we all get to see of DI Walker and his team. It’s becoming a bit of a tradition for me to read these part cosy, part thriller police procedural books around this time of year and I don’t want it to end. I really enjoyed this third book and if you’ve already read the first two, I think you will too. Alternatively, if you haven’t read any of the books in this series, this could easily be read standalone. Overall a great Christmas read that I loved reading during the cold evenings. Another very easy tool to use is a long-handled hoe, which might seem a bit old fashioned but really they’re so easy to use, just scratching over the soil surface around plants to loosen the roots of small weeds. On a dry, breezy day you can just leave the weed on the soil surface to wilt and die." Best homemade weed killers to get rid of weeds naturally White clover in particular is a sign of low nitrogen levels in the soil, and growing it will correct this imbalance. But while The Winter Killer is a highly enjoyable book, what's let me down is the title, as it always annoys me when a thriller is promoted as being more sinister than it actually is. Because for me, there definitely wasn't enough winter or killing. Although everything appeared to be fine on the surface, DI Walker and Jessica uncover resentments, secrets and sibling rivalry between the two sisters. Rachel was supposed to marry ten months earlier at the same hotel but was cruelly dumped a few weeks before the wedding. Her ex-fiancé, Douglas Hannigan, is a dubious character who had political ambitions until someone, possibly Rachel, exposed his drug habit. DI James Walker is hoping to spend his new year's weekend with his family, when he gets a call from DC Jessica Abbott, who is attending a wedding function with her fiancee, Sean at a famous hotel in Cumbria. The owner, Greg Murphy of this chain of hotels, known as “The Fells” is getting married to Libby Elliot. Her maid of honor and sister Rachel Elliot has been reported missing since the morning breakfast and when she did not turn up until late evening, Libby began to worry and soon realized that something was very wrong. DI James Walker is heading the investigation and soon they recover her body from lake Windermere adjoining the hotel. Of course, no one wants a completely overgrown garden. So, to help the environment rather than hinder it, you want a good quality, eco-friendly weed killer. One that you know will work, but won't be harmful to wildlife, your pets or children. The Idiots Guide to Winter Moss Suppression

The most chilling crime thriller you’ll read this winter, perfect for fans of Catherine Cooper’s The Chalet and Simon McCleave’s The Snowdonia Killings – and anyone who prefers their mince pies with a side of murder. Step 1. Feed with Autumn Lawn Fertiliser in September or October. Keeping the grass healthy stops moss moving in Dormancy takes quiescence and adds the biological instinct to successfully establish. In this case, achieving the required growing conditions doesn’t necessarily trigger continued development.

Liz Potter, editor of Garden Answers, says, "We like to be organic as much as possible on Garden Answers – if you think about it, a weed is often just a misunderstood wildflower growing in the wrong place, and even dandelions can be an important source of nectar for early bees on the wing. For broadleaf weeds, look for products with triclopyr, dicamba, MCPP or 2, 4-D. These are the active ingredients found in selective herbicides that kill broadleaf weeds but not your grass. Some products, called two-way and three-way herbicides, have two or more active ingredients.A strongly developed thriller with an interesting case, The Winter Killer is a hard-to-predict investigation with a wedding-clad party full of guests to suspect. After implementing these preventative measures, inspect your garden regularly to discover weeds as early as possible. Remove or treat weeds the instant you notice them. Killing them before they drop seeds prevents infestations in years to come.
