Description

You glossed over this, but the size difference is more than slight. There's a reason why I don't travel with my Godox AD600 Pro and choose the AD400 Pro instead and it's the size. It is the difference between fitting in my carry on or not. The FJ400 does have more battery, but that'd be something the photographer needs to decide is worth the extra size. And to correct your article, it's *480 shots at full power on the FJ400. Not 490. IMPROVED 38W LED MODELLING LAMP - Improving on the AD600's 10W LED modelling lamp, the AD600 Pro boasts an impressive 38W LED modelling lamp making it much more versatile and useful, especially in lit areas Okay, so I know the Godox AD600 Pro TTL and its variants have been around for quite a while. (It became available at the beginning of 2018), and it was certainly a highly anticipated bit of kit. When it was announced, there were a number of key features that caught my eye, such as the 0.9sec recycle time at full power output, new bulb design and dome, better bulb positioning, flash duration indication, colour consistency and more. In this cookie, PrestaShop stores data that allows it to keep the user's session open, such as currency, language, customer ID and other information necessary for the proper operation of the store. Being an IGBT strobe the 600 PRO natively provide fairly fast T0.1 flash durations, stated as1/220sat full power, to 1/10100s at 1/256 power.

The Flashpoint XPLOR 600PRO is a solid contender for the higher priced flash models. The upper echelons still have name recognition, brand trust, and in Profoto’s case, rental house ubiquity, but Flashpoint is definitely making a splash with this strobe. It takes a leap of faith to take a budget-priced strobe on an important shoot, but I did it and survived to tell the story – and it’s a victorious one. With built-in Godox 2.4G X wireless system, AD600Pro is compatible with Canon E-TTLII, Nikon i-TTL autoflash, Sony, FUJIFILM, Olympus Panasonic and TTL autoflash system. With this AD600 flash, your shooting will become simpler. To learn more about the difference between these two flashes, as well as the pros and cons of this flash, read our AD200 vs AD200 Pro comparison blog. It's a new flash tube with different properties, even if we agree it's a 'fix' it still costs money to design and implement it. The foam in the bag could be better designed to be able to make better use of the empty space after you remove the bulb & Bowens adapter and fit them onto the strobe

Transceivers

AD600B/AD600BM: This is Godox’s most powerful off-camera light. Both models are 600 w/s and use an attached Li-on battery. While they both are HSS capable the AD600BM does not have TTL (the M stands for manual). Both have a Bowens mount for light modifiers. Popular accessories for the AD600 include an AC adapter that replaces the battery for endless power, and the H600B and H1200B remote heads. The H600B offers 9 feet of cable for keeping the large AD600 body low on a light stand, while the H1200B draws power from 2 cabled AD600’s that can be mounted lower.

And speaking of more output, the AD600Pro has that 38W modelling light, that’s pretty close to two full stops over the AD600. This means it could potentially be used as a video light either bare or with a small modifier. The Bowens adapter is solid, can be left attached permanently, can still be used with the supplied reflector and all fits inside the case complete

Conclusion

The XPro is the newest transmitter that marries the feature set of the X1-T and the improved design of the XT32. It has the largest display which is slanted, is TTL/HSS capable, has individual buttons for selecting a group, and adds a TCM feature for converting a TTL output to manual. Transceivers InNormalmode (not Freeze mode) theORLITRT 610 ranged from 5408K at1/16 power, to 5790K at 1/128power.

The proprietary TTL and HSS enabled 2.4GHz R2 Radio Remote Systemtransmits atop a modern DSLR body with reliable TTL and pass-through to speedlights, plus laser AF assist. R2 transmitters work with the complete family of Flashpoint Zoom Speedlights, XPLOR600 Monolights and Streaklight Strobes with R2 TTL radio transceivers built right in.Add a R2 receiver to any legacy flash with a sync port and it too becomes part of the R2 Family! The incredible range of these compact and lightweight units as well as their integrated functions and features make them the first choice of professional photographers. I ended up swapping out the overhead light for an Elinchrom ELB 500 TTL, which weighs little more than a gasp of air, and the AD600 Pro was used for the accent light. Now bear in mind that this is my personal choice, because I'm lugging kit all over the country most days of the week, and a lot of my shoots end up requiring overhead lighting, such as food etc. Having a battery powered flash not only removes the need for AC Power Outputs and wasting time trying to find the outlets (if there even are any available), but also eliminates the tripping hazard of cables on set. The XT32 is an alternate trigger design and while the interface is a bit more user-friendly because of its wheel and slanted display, it does not communicate TTL and there is no hot shoe. I used a competitor battery powered monolight for about 4 years steady. I never quite got the same results as the hype that went with those units. When I switched cameras and that company did not support my cameras, it was time to change. I studied and studied and went with Godox/Flashpoint. Good move on my part.

Pros

It is great when you own both because it is a simple answer, if you need it then it is worth it, if you don't it won't be - for me a definite yes I think it depends on what your shooting , nearly 2 secs recycle on full power for model or portrait work might be too slow to keep the flow. It is also supposed to have better colour repeatability between shots. God knows most cameras and lenses are not calibrated......... but I guess if you sort one frame you can just do the others the same. The AD600 Pro also offers a very powerful modeling lamp, meaning that this light can also be used as a video light alongside its flash capabilities! Offering a 38w light, as well as a 4-hour battery life from a single charge, the AD600 Pro is a great tool for both videography and flash photography.

And that supplied 5″ reflector, providing a broader even light pattern, is nice, thoughover a stop lessbright than the original 600 with supplied 7″ reflector. Defects that occur during the warranty period will be repaired free of charge, as soon as possible, which should not exceed 14 days from the date of accepting the equipment for repair. The deadline may be extended if the repair requires the import of spare parts and other random situations beyond the control of Godox.Overall, the AD400Pro and AD600Pro are both amazing portable flashes that perform very well in both indoor and outdoor settings. The old dome wouldn't have fit the new flash tube, it's a better design with a frosted front, so again a nice improvement and only a fix if you're insisting everything they've changed is a fix. The controls are familiar. But the innovation is outstanding. News breaking features like: recycling in under a second at full power, super stable color output, real modeling light power from an LED, and integrated reflector while maintain the classic Bowens mount, and superior flashtube performance. The compact 600ws marvel invites you to go beyond the straights of wire dependency and soar into the free and easy heights only R2 Radio tenders. The X1-T was the original trigger. It is TTL and HSS capable, offers control of up to 5 groups, and has a hot-shoe on top. This hot shoe can be used to integrate a non-Godox flash or use another Godox flash on camera while retaining access to 5 groups of flash off-camera.
