Description

Trim Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet liner close to the design, then secure to blank with Heat Resistant Tape to prevent shifting during transfer. For flat base materials, find a firm, flat, heat-resistant surface around waist high and use an Easypress Mat to protect surface. Preheat your surface: Once your EasyPress has reached the desired temperature, it will beep. Now you can press your surface for about 5 seconds. This will get rid of all wrinkles and smooth your surface if you sill see wrinkles, press again for another 5 seconds. Layering materials is an easy way to add dimension to your heat transfer projects. (See my tutorial for how to layer iron-on vinyl for more!) In fact, there are many Cricut designs out there that are designed specifically with layering in mind. They have multiple layers that are placed on top or one another to create the final image.

If your large design uses multiple different types or iron-on material or several smaller designs, you might decide to peel off the protective liners as you go. Just make sure the heat press doesn’t touch the areas you’ve already peeled off. You can use the liners for protection as you’re working through your design. Using the Cricut EasyPress to layer iron-on materials While I can still press them, Ia m not sure if I get the *best* transfer, because of the seams of the onesie, I think that with a smaller press, I could get way better results. Also, if you are going to press of tees or other kinds of fabrics, pre-wash them, so that your vinyl down get ruined by the shrinkage of the fabric. Unlike regular industrial presses, the EasyPress 2 is easily transportable thanks to its lightweight plastic body, and a base that allows to move it around safely. If you are starting to do more gifts that require heat transfers, or are dipping your toes in to selling tees, the EasyPress is a good stepping stone into professional heating press equipment.

The EasyPress and EasyPress 2 are both easy to use, do not require a press cloth for most projects, are great for layered projects, are compatible with all major brands of heat-transfer materials (not just Cricut), and help transfers hold up and look great through multiple washes. Avoid seams, buttons, and zippers when positioning Cricut EasyPress on base material. If the heat plate crosses over these things the design will not receive even heat, resulting in unwanted effects. When applying designs to u nusual objects, around seams, or in hard-to-reach places, use Cricut EasyPress Mini. Preheat your surface: Once your EasyPress has reached the desired temperature, it will beep. Now you can press your surface for about 5 seconds. Use the EasyPress heat setting guide. The guys at Cricut did a wonderful job of setting up an interactive guide that covers most materials. This guide will guide you in the exact setting you should use your press Heat Transfer Vinyl– Make sure you are using HEAT transfer vinyl, this is a different kind, and you also have to remember to mirror the graphics before cutting them.Note: Ensure your design is within the maximum recommended design sizes for using Cricut EasyPress Mini with iron-on (4" W x 3.5" L or 1.7" W x 5.25" L). And here are a few other things the EasyPress 2 has that the original EasyPress doesn’t—these wouldn’t necessarily be something that would impact my buying decision personally, but you should be aware of them: Infusible Ink projects have special instructions. Carefully follow the instructions for your specific project in these Infusible Ink How-To articles. Simply place your design and set the EasyPress down over it. (Note: If you have to use something like a cloth between your base material and your EasyPress, you may need to bump the temp or apply heat for longer.)
