If there’s one thing you want in an acoustic amplifier, it’s an organic reflection of the guitar’s natural tone, and with this baby Acoustasonic we found this in spades. Despite being so small, and having such a small speaker, we found that it handles the bottom end of a full size dreadnought exceptionally well– something we weren’t expecting at all. Amps such as the Marshall AS50D have a notch filter and a frequency sweep control to really give you control over it. Others will have phase switches, on/off buttons that cut some of the low-end frequencies that can cause mischief. It’s a solid state model with 1 5 watts of power, giving it surprising punch for a small amp. The 6 inch speaker has a full range response, and includes a specially designed whizzer cone designed to improve the high frequency tones. This amplifier is not battery-powered but uses a fixed AC cable which means that buskers need to find a power source before performing. In addition, there are some convenient functions missing here such as reverb effect, external FX loop, footswitch connection, etc. but these are not a must-have for a beginner.

The effect permeates the already warm tone, rather than seeming to lay atop it, as is the case with many onboard chorus effects. The onboard chorus effect is variable, meaning you can control the response frequency with a simple turn of one knob. What’s important, the amp has the XLR Mic and the 1/4″ Instrument inputs, so it’s perfect for all solo artists who want to sing and play the guitar at the same time.At the top end the whizzer cone really made a big difference. It’s so easy for small amps to get overwhelmed by bass frequencies, but this Acoustasonic still put out some brilliant shimmer in the trebles, and it made a huge difference. When it comes to pricing, it’s one of the most affordable acoustic amps available on the market right now. It’s not cheapest amp in the world, but considering its relatively low price, it’s definitely worth the money. For more effective high-frequency response, the Acoustasonic 15 bears the unusual distinction of being the only Fender guitar amp to use a "whizzer" cone—a small supplementary speaker cone attached to the voice coil of the amps 6" speaker. The Acoustic Singer series from Boss takes the bi-amp format to offer an all-in-one amp solution for singer-songwriters, and its excellent design, tone and value for money make it a hugely attractive choice for any electro-acoustic player.

Controls: 1/4" Channel: Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble, Chorus. Microphone Channel: Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble. Many guitarists wonder whether they should choose the cheaper Fender Acoustasonic 15 or a bit more expensive Fender Acoustasonic 40. Both of these combos are great, but again – it all depends on your own personal preferences. Fender Acoustasonic 15 is a solid-state amp which features 15 Watts of power and a great sounding 6″ speaker. On top of that, the manufacturer equipped this model with a 3-band EQ and a built-in chorus effect. Overall, since it’s a pretty affordable amp, there’s not much to complain about. It’s not super loud, but it’s a great combo for the money. I honestly think that it’d be really difficult to find something better at this price level. Fender Acoustasonic 15 vs Fender Acoustasonic 40 The SFX looks like a breed apart from other acoustic guitar amps. It has a retro-minimism with its maple-ply cabinet evoking Danish modernism. This will look good in the home beside your Kaare Klint chairs, or the coffee shop, club, wherever you intend to play it.

Highlights:

Simple but practical EQ controls are very responsive to give you any tone you are looking for and the built-in chorus effect creates a lovely shimmer to the sound. Basic PA functionality can be easily performed with this amplifier, it also gives you flexibility for a range of musical performances. So which one of them is better? Well, if you’re frequently gigging, you should choose the 40-Watt version. It’s just better for live performances. But if you’re looking for a small combo to practice at home, choose the 15-Watt model! As the amp is quite clearly on the smaller side with the 15 watt output, then you know you’re not dealing with a hefty amp to travel around with. And, if you’re looking for the type of amp to take on tours or on the road, then why would you want a 500 watt behemoth to just plug in and play anyway? Alright, you’ve heard us drone on about just how special of a small amp this is. But, let’s face it, you need to hear what it actually sounds like in action, Feast your ears on the below: Speaker Description: 6 inch Special Design full-range speaker with whizzer cone for enhanced high-frequency response.
