This is great if you plan on displaying it on a high shelf and still want to see some of the details on the top or side instead of the underside. Here is the place of my frigate. The bags were already thrown away but the instructions show how the set was parted into 6 numbered bags. The right room holds two of the lightsabers, Sidious´ hologram and a diagnose picture of the frigate. There is enough room for three figures.

The minifigs were what sold this set for me. 4 exclusive (1 of which will be high demand) there was no way I was going to get the minifigs for a decent price, and then that niggling feeling that I would've gotten much better value for money if I'd bought the whole set... It was an enjoyable build, the new green lightsabres are interesting, and there were some cool pieces in there. It took me forever to work out what the lid on the top was for, and what pulling that thing in and out did. Later on I remembered the bombs and ah-ha! Side panels cover the Technic frame, either attached directly or held in place by clips and hinges. (This particular photo shows some modules added later in the build, since for this particular review we built the vehicle and then partially disassembled it for photography. This behind-the-scenes TBB moment was brought to you by LEGO part 6280341, Animal #70, Left Arm.) The instructions are seperated into two books. Interesting to note would be that the first book opens like a regular magazine but the second is diagonally. Finally, let’s discuss the overall scale. From photographs (even with minifigs on the stand for scale), the gunship doesn’t look particularly huge, but in person it’s massive. Clone Troopers in the movies and TV series fill the doorway to about the top of the forward angled section where it meets the archway over the forward doorway. Similarly, they fit comfortably inside the side ball turrets. In other words, the UCS gunship is not substantially larger than actual “minifig-scale”, at least based on minifig height.Star Wars Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Other Vehicles (First identified as Consular-class cruiser (Charger c70 retrofit)) At last we have the most exciting part of the set: A grey container with 2x2 dark tan tile including Star Wars stile binoculars (not pictured) and a hologram of Darth Sidious. The same hologram is included in the UCS Executor making its inclusion here a miracle as the Jedi never recieved any messages from the darkest lord of all and LEGO seems to like putting small decorated pieces into sets that aren´t wort the money for a single piece.

Nevertheless, fans of the Prequel Trilogy and Clone Wars TV series — and obviously, based on the fan vote, there are plenty among us LEGO Star Wars builders and collectors — will enjoy this large-scale build of an iconic vehicle. It’s just hard for us to recommend this as a universal must-have instead of even last year’s imperfect but lovable UCS A-wing by the same designer. I’ve said many times elsewhere that my favorite LEGO Star Wars UCS set is the UCS Slave I, and argued as well that the UCS Falcon might be the best. The UCS gunship is neither, filling a gap in the UCS assortment without adding much new other than sheer size to LEGO Star Wars overall. I also suspect the width of the gunship will make it challenging to display except as a centerpiece on a table (if that’s how you want to decorate). The left room stores the bombs and grey container. There is a little additional room for at least two figures.Compound curves abound on the gunship’s fuselage, so studs-out construction begins early with the nose area, layering stepped arches to achieve some of the vertical curve. It only needs less beard and more knife and we get the voluminous hair he had in his appearances. Only downsides would be that the piece is rather loose and there is a noticeable gap between torso and hair.
