Sound is very good, comfort is impressive, and the extensive battery life makes them the perfect solution on the go. Add to that effective noise-canceling, adaptive apX, plus a comprehensive app, and you get a solid alternative to the classic AirPods Pro or the Gemini. I think the overall sound quality of M4 for music is also very good. The clarity and soundstage are great. The bass is full and impactful, although I feel it could be a little overpowering sometimes. I did listen to the M4 in passive mode using the provided headphone cable. The M4 sounded dull. The wireless mode sounded better and much more alive. I didn’t play with the EQ in the Smart Control App. My time with the Momentum 4 Wireless was that of pure joy, and I thank Sennheiser for giving me an opportunity to try out their latest offering. Being a long time user and fan of the Momentum line-up, I went into this review with high expectations. The Momentum 4 Wireless have big boots to fill, and a legacy to uphold. That said, I can confidently say that all worries and reservation I may have had going into the review faded from memory by the end. Offering both a technologically and sonically superior revision, Sennheiser did the Momentum’s namesake right and is a more than worthy upgrade to the line. Whether it be long time users such as myself, or new users wanting a pair of great sounding ANC headphones, the Momentum 4 Wireless will not disappoint! So, the big question: Will I be grabbing a pair myself? Absolutely! Eventually… sometime soon I hope, so I can enjoy them before the next Momentum is announced. Regardless, the Momentum 4 Wireless will be a very welcome addition to my Momentum lineup, and is highly recommended to anyone wanting nothing but the best sound while on the go! Attachments This could be due to several factors, including increased market competition, cost efficiencies gained from advanced production techniques, or a strategic decision to attract a wider audience. The Momentum 3 sound like the listener is front and centre right up against the stage, while the Momentum 4 Wireless sound as if you are in the venue’s sweet spot. Not only does this allow for a greater sense of holographic space, it allows the sound be breathe, creating an out-of head experience with far more accurate detail and resolve.

Sonically – where are we? With the old, wonderful Sennheiser values. There is no effect-heavy show here, but basic audiophile virtues. Competitors like to spice up the bass – Sennheiser relies on a decent fundament refraining from any exaggeration. Because a fat bass would also kill a lot of information in the midrange. We experienced highest transparency, some analytical resolution and an amazing pace. Everything about the Momentum 4 feels light. Like a sports car made of high-tech materials. Unless you stayed inside a cave for the last century, you must be accustomed to Sennheiser. A company that’s been in the business for more than 75 years now, who sold hundreds of millions of headphones – even billions if you count the earphones – both for audiophiles and sound professionals. In fact, some headphones, like the HD650 or HD-25 have been in the brand catalog for more than thirty years now, that’s almost as old as I am! Pros: fantastic sound, effective noise-cancelling, 60-hour battery life, super-comfortable, Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive and multipoint, USB-C charging and audio, 2.5/3.5mm analogue cable, great controls, top voice quality, good cross-platform app. The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless are some of the very best-sounding, longest-lasting and the most comfortable noise-cancelling headphones available.Going to make this short and sweet. The two headphones along with the HD1 wired connectivity and functionality are identical to one another. Using the headphones in passive mode (no battery in use, plugged in with the cable) is really the last use case for this model (and the intended customer use-case) The up-to-60-hours battery was implemented to constantly drive the DSP, which offers the best sound quality, even when ANC is on”

Wind noise is also handled well, the design of the headphones reducing the effect of the turbulent air as it passes by (something that does affect the WH-1000XM4). The strength of the noise cancellation does tend to go up and down, though; initially, I thought this was as a result of the “adaptive” part of the noise cancellation. But it seems the headphones’ mics can be a little erratic, unexpectedly letting in noise and then closing up the seal. But some might want to opt for the classic way, via cable. We can offer either a passive mode making the Momentum 4 a pretty efficient set of headphones with 60-ohm of impedance. If the battery ever dies and you did not forget the cable, that´s the way to go. In practice, this could probably only happen to those who simply forget to load at all. As the spec sheet boast with more than 60 hours of playtime on a full charge – including noise cancellation and at medium levels. That’s simply fabulous. Especially because we can easily imagine to wear the Momentum 4 as long as we would like to; lightly, without pressure, highly pleasant. More Competitive Pricing: While the sound quality and features of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless series have been widely praised, some users have expressed concerns about the price. They would appreciate a more competitive price point that aligns with the cost of similar products on the market, without compromising the audio quality that Sennheiser is renowned for. So, which should you choose, the Sony WF-1000XM5 vs Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3? As the newer pair of buds, we'd say the Sony WF-1000XM5 may tip the scales slightly, especially in terms of the lighter and smaller design, new processor, marginally better battery performance and fun listen. Imaging is superb. I am able to pinpoint the instruments with ease. I can even distinguish if something is coming from closer or further away.Product Improvement: If there are significant enhancements or innovations that Sennheiser has developed since the True Wireless 3’s release, a new model could provide an opportunity to introduce these features. Users have reported experiencing a drop in mic audio quality via USB. We have retested Recording Quality, but the scoring of this test hasn't changed.

The WF-1000XM5 are also 25% smaller and approximately 20% lighter than the WF-1000XM4. This makes them a very light 4.2g per earbud. Another exciting design change here is that the WF-1000XM5 come in four sizes, including what Sony says is an “ultra-small” SS model for smaller ears. This is great news for those with small ear canals, which we pointed out in our review after some first-hand experience. Stay immersed in your music: Thanks to the headphone's Adaptive Noise Cancellation, you stay distraction-free - and with the Adjustable Transparency Mode you stay in touch with the world around you. In terms of performance and sound quality, connectivity, and signal stability, both headphones were virtually identical. Not much else to say. Both the Sony WF-1000XM5 and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 have made improvements to call quality. This means that if you're looking for buds for professional calls, both of these are going to serve you well.

Should you buy the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless in 2021?

The integrated mic has a fair recording quality. We used an estimated value for LFE as the processing job is recording LFE at -3dB by default, which isn't reflective of its performance. To account for this, we measured LFE at -6dB, as this is the point in the response that we feel is closest to the true LFE. Even though there isn't much bass in the recording quality, it's not as bad as the graph indicates. We are looking into this issue, though. Your voice sounds fairly clear and easy to understand. The M4 is a set of feature-rich headphones. Although the M4 was not quite comfortable for me, I did not spend time to test all the features. I will keep this review short. I will also compare the M4 with my AirPods Pro (Gen 1) since that’s my only Bluetooth earphones in the similar price range. The touchpad works well, almost a little too well. Even the slightest touch pauses the music. The pinch gesture to change the ANC setting is a hit-and-miss. From ANC level 1 to neutral to transparency level 1 it works quite well, but either turning up the ANC level or transparency level above that needs a lot of tries.
