Making the latest Ball and Boe record Vegas-themed was exciting to us for many reasons. There is an energy in Vegas that lights up in a way nowhere else does, and it felt like the perfect moment in time to bring that energy into our new album. It’s a chance to let go and have some fun, especially after a pandemic, and it’s important for our incredible fans to feel that excitement with us. Theatre gives you an opportunity to laugh, to cry, to share emotions with a group of strangers in a dark room. It’s really healthy and really cathartic. But you have to keep reminding people that you’ll miss this if it’s no longer there and it’ll only remain as long as you invest in it. That goes for the government as well: invest in it. Everyone is in need of a bit of Vegas in their lives right now!” Inspired by Alfie's momentous two-day concert event at the legendary International Theatre at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino this summer, the decision to record such iconic repertoire was an easy one for both singers. Michael Ball and Alfie Boe have both received countless prestigious awards, record-breaking sales, and chart successes. A particular highlight occurred in 2020 when Michael released the fastest-selling single of the year with his No.1 duet with the late Captain Tom Moore. Over Michael's extraordinary 30-year career, his outstanding performances have also made smash-hit box office history. He is a double Olivier Award winner, multi-platinum and chart-topping recording artist, top selling live concert performer, a hugely popular radio and TV presenter and now author. Later this year Michael releases his debut novel, 'The Empire', the first in a series set in the world of theatre. We all got very creative. Lots of online performances and things like that. But we have a duty as entertainers to entertain. And despite what’s thrown at you, we will take the performance to people and give them some joy in any way we can.MB: It’s interesting. The death knell has been sounded for live performances and theatre since I’ve been in the business. The thing about the talent that works in the theatre is that it’s creative, adaptable, determined, and we always find a way to survive. Through history, when things are tough, you need an outlet. There will also be a chance a chance to spin the wheel on the giant video jukebox to win prizes and special merchandise, plus there will even be a specially curated Together in Vegasmenu. Alfie's performance in Baz Luhrman's 2002 Broadway production of La Boheme won him a group cast Tony Award. Inspired by Alfie’s momentous two-day concert event at the legendary International Theatre at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino this summer, the decision to record such iconic repertoire was an easy one for both singers. Dave Arch, famous for being the Musical Director for Strictly Come Dancing is also the mastermind behind the orchestration on this album. The orchestra was recorded in Prague and the rhythm section formed of the highest pedigree of session musicians in the UK was recorded at British Grove Studios in London. They have become known as the UK's favourite entertainers, and together form the ultimate musical duo: Michael Ball and Alfie Boe never fail to raise spirits with their unique combination of powerful voices and tongue-in-cheek charm, even when the chips are down. For their fifth studio album together, Michael & Alfie take us to The Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. They are 'Together In Vegas'. The collection of songs was a pleasure to work through. The theme being Las Vegas, it includes a Franki Valli and a Tom Jones medley, plus songs such as The Gambler, Sway and American Trilogy by Elvis. With live big band musicians, and a dynamic, powerful production, this album is truly joyous to listen (and dance away) to.
