I love me a trilogy — but some stories do not require that extra book. Because then we end up with the dreaded Second Book Curse. You know what I'm talking about. Miller, Melissa (14 June 2022). To avoid killing main characters, Shelby Mahurin started killing as many side characters as she wanted jsut so we could have some death suring the war. Again with the unecessary things. She killed them just because it was expected for someone to die and the author couldn't kill anyone more important at this point. I'm happy that those characters managed to survived, don't get me wrong. But there's a death that I'm thinking in particular that was just a poor attempt to make some of the characters feel more grief and be hit harder with the actual consequences of the war. Maybe I'm complaining too much, but after reading so many great fantasy series, I have the tendency to just be more and more critical of even the little stuff. Do not read this review if you have not read Serpent and Dove (Book 1) ⚠️ Other than that there are no other spoilers in this review. Feder, Katarina (24 June 2022). Blood & Honey started off on a high key and from the very first chapters I was sure that this was going to be the vibe of the entire book. And guess what? It was.Yep, I definitely agree with you. Watching Ansel suffer it made me feel a lot with him. Especially because Ansel was more likeable than other characters in my opinion. I felt like relating to him a lot, and the death of him was useless. He could have been kept alive, and him dying made me really, really sad. It is just so heavy, after watching Ansel getting tore apart in his own emotions.. you could tell that he truly desired to be a part of the world, too. He didn’t want to be an outsider and I really liked him for his personality, simple and sweet. Even when others would find his shyness annoying, I found it sweet. Maybe he was not perfect, but to me he was just a character that spoke to me the most. Because sometimes you can try so hard and go nowhere, your attempts go to sand. I really wanted him to get his happy ending, I feel like Ansel deserved it. And Ansel might have not been good in fighting or romance, but if written right, he could have been. That is what hurts the most, when a good character goes to a waste. Because he could have have a serious character improvement. And I think if the author did that, it would have been more intense to watch him change and become more confident. Ansel was not just useless like he thought, he needed someone that reminded him that no matter how small the impact was, he was someone meaningful to someone else, too. Ansel, throughout the book, does not feel like he is good enough. He doesn’t feel worth anything. He is so incredibly lost but it never comes across as him being a moody teenager. It is just really sad. It makes you want to wrap him up in a warm hug and tell him it will be okay. His training with Lou is painful because it’s not something he’s good at. His romance with Coco doesn’t come to fruition. Again, foreshadowing maybe but it really feels like these things are like severing ties. He isn’t good at fighting. He isn’t good at romance. He’s not feeling his best self. He is vulnerable and almost feels shame at being the ordinary in the group. He doesn’t feel special, and Lou trying to tell him he is in his own way just isn’t enough. I went into it with no expectations, yet I'm disappointed. From now on, in my heart, Serpent and Dove is a standalone. The sequels don't actually exist as they did this series so dirty. I've come from loving the first book to just hating both books that we got after. I’m not worthless, but I still don’t believe you. I can’t fight. I can’t cast enchantments. Let me prove I can do something—” This just felt horribly foreshadowing. It was the final line for me really that made me know what was going to happen to Ansel and my heart started to break all over again for him. His last conversation with Lou in the tunnels before the confrontation was hard and something I think Lou is really going to battle with in the next book. Ritman, Alex (1 November 2022). Welcome

Starting off my final review for the final book of this series by saying that I am extremely worried about the fact that this book is going to give me some brain damage. But the whole point of the film revolves around who the antagonists are. Up until now, Winnie the Pooh was known for his reassuring acceptance of the wider universe around him, so much so that latter-day revisionists had him pegged as a Taoist. He was a creature of the simple life; taking every new day as it came, just happy to be part of a beautiful world. There is, not that it needs to be spelled out, quite the gap between that mindset and the mindset of a hideous sentient pig-man who appears to be sexually aroused by graphic violence. i think readers who are fan of the story just for the story/world/characters sake wont mind another journey book though. i also think readers who were upset with how things were left at the end of the previous book will find some closure and relief - i know i did! i think thats why im not rating this a lot lower, because i was quite satisfied with how the story does resolve.

Archived from the original on 16 February 2023 . Retrieved 17 February 2023. I'm extremely anxious at the moment; I mean, yeah those plot twists aren't that wow if you think of them but given the fact that SO MUCH is happening and you can't even catch your breath, you might actually get surprised by them plot twists; I went into it with no expectations, yet I'm disappointed. From now on, in my heart, Serpent & Dove is a standalone. The sequels don't actually exist as they did this series so dirty. Ritman, Alex (8 September 2023). " Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Returning to Theaters This Weekend [Exclusive]". Bloody Disgusting . Retrieved 13 March 2023. Winnie the- Pooh: Blood and Honey knows this, which is why its entire trading currency is controversy. Hot out of the gates, Rolling Stone has already called the film “childhood-ruining”, and everyone involved in the making of the film has to be hoping that this is the narrative that continues until the film’s release. It won’t matter whether the film is actually any good or not, because the whole point of it is that it gets to subvert an innocent icon like Pooh. Well, I have finally finished this series. It took me a while to read all of these books but I've done it! It sure has been an experience, and while I am upset that the second and third books were disappointing compared to the first one, I will always carry fond memories of Serpent & Dove with me, as well as the characters, who I've grown to really love.

Let’s talk about my favorite thing in any book: WORLDBUILDING. There are NEW CREATURES GUYS. I love them. They’re the best. I guess I can’t actually talk about this much without spoiling? But know there are some new worldbuildilng elements in G&M that really add to the magic of the story. Nevertheless, the major highlight of the book is definitely, its sublime ending. Shelby Mahurin gives us a breathless conclusion to the series that I think might be, if not the best, one of the best epilogues I have ever read. It's healing, emotional, and heartbreaking all the same. What I'm pointing out will not bother people who will read this book in a few years time, when they can binge all the books in one go. But right now, where I'm sitting, it's highly frustrating knowing that once again we're waiting for the next book when this book hardly did anything to satiate us. Le» is a masculine article, so the noun must be so accordingly. Therefore, considering that the «e» is added only when it is feminine, it must be removed. McAndrews, Mary Beth (18 July 2022).
