About this deal

While software can be a bit unpredictable, I can say that during the time I spent testing the Duo, I had zero compatibility issues and devoted no time at all to troubleshooting. Included software: Cubasis LE, DSPMixFX software, REV-X reverb, Channel Strip, Guitar Amp Classics FX System requirements: iOS 7.0, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone SE, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation), iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation), iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad (6th generation), iPad (5th generation), iPod touch (6th generation), from Android 5 on devices with USB digital audio functions, from Win7, from Mac OS X 10.6 Indeed there's no doubting that IK Multimedia has an eye on just about every audio application with iRig Pro Duo I/O, both in and away from the studio. It comes with batteries (2 x AA) and Lightning, USB-C and USB-A cables so can be used with iOS or Android devices but will also draw power by USB for more flexible use with a Mac or PC (it can be powered by DC but the adapter for this is an optional extra). And overall, it boasts decent enough specs to capture good quality audio recordings for a lot of different situations including music production, live streaming plus audio for podcasts and videos. My daughter got AmpliTube on PC with that free QR scan, she did some testing but failed. I will have to sit with her and dop the troubleshooting.

So I wonder which free Android recording device is recommended to recording and jamming on an Android phone. This dual-input interface comes with a secondary preamp voicing to offer brighter tones and a sound closer to the brand’s more expensive ISA preamps. While the iPad Pro and Scarlett 2i2 pair-up is wonderful – considering it can be powered through USB-C – we wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for long sessions. The iRig Pro Duo I/O has two XLR / 1/4" combo guitar, mic, and line inputs. Plug your guitar straight into the interface or plug in some microphones to record singing, spoken voice, amps, and other instruments. The Class-A preamps help keep your recordings sounding clean and clear thanks to the improved gain range (controllable via the front facing gain controls). The +48v phantom power means you can record with studio quality microphones, supplying them with enough power to operate them. The iRig Pro Duo I/O also features MIDI 2.5mm inputs and outputs so it can be usedas a MIDI interface as well. Whether you're recording your part of a live set or an interview for a podcast the iRig Pro Duo I/O can help you achieve crisp, clearsound. Compatibility These specs include two combination XLR / 1/4” guitar, mic and line inputs with 'high-quality' mic pres, a couple of 2.5mm MIDI In and Out connections (with breakout cables supplied) and two balanced 1/4” outputs for connection to speakers or other devices. Connect the device up to your DAW, then, and it will function as both a 2-channel audio and MIDI interface and the fact that it comes with those combi inputs and 48v phantom power means you can plug pro grade microphones into it as well as your guitar, bass and keys. In short, iRig Pro Duo I/O is designed to record anything and anywhere. Many of these interfaces are designed to work with mobile devices foremost and are small and powered by USB or disposable batteries. Some were originally designed for computers and later updated to run with mobile. There’s a bit of a tradeoff with the latter; while you may typically get better preamps, their power draw can make them less flexible for portable rigs. The best mobile interfaces to buy at a glance: As shown above, this output fortunately has its own level setting on the corresponding side of the Rig Pro Duo I/O. Test recordings

On macOS, first select 48 kHz in the Audio MIDI Setup (illustrated above) and then in your desired recording app. Setting levels I plugged in a Fender Stratocaster and recorded some rhythm guitar clips to listen for any tone differences. I was able to discern extra clarity and brightness in the recording. Low-mids were slightly fuller as well. Without an A/B test, this would be very difficult to notice. Make no mistake – The sound quality here is solid. On it’s own, the quality you can achieve will rival what’s available from larger and more expensive home interfaces for desktop use. Users of the original iRig Pro Duo will feel at home with the performance they’ve come to expect. ConclusionsWe recommend uninstalling the iRig Pro DUO ASIO drivers if you want to use the general iRig ASIO drivers. Both ASIO drivers will work with iRig Pro DUO and iRig Pro DUO I/O; but using the general iRig ASIO will allow it to work with other iRig models. It connects to both machines via the supplied cable. And both machines recognise the iRig because it appears in the Microphone options. Been talking to Support and they say the USB-C cable you supply with the iRig no longer works in the new iPads. Wish I'd been told this sooner! :
