On the other hand, folks who occasionally perform weightlifting or CrossFit workouts will benefit from the Adipower 2. The light build won’t drag you down during the dynamic snatches, cleans, box jumps, thrusters, etc. Sizing and Fit This model’s length already runs a smidge long when sizing this model true to size. Even if you size up, I’m not convinced you’ll have enough room in the toe box for full toe splay, and you’ll just be left with a shoe that runs way too long. Both of these shoes run true to size in length, but the Reebok Legacy Lifter 3’s may run slightly big for neutral or narrow-footed lifters. While I wear in 10 in both, I can get a tighter fit in the Adipower 3’s. I suggest a half-size down for most people in the Legacy Lifters (relative to training shoes) unless you have a wider foot. In that case, I think you’ll be quite pleased with the fit going true to size. A great pair of weightlifting shoes needs to be comfortable, durable, look good, and provide stability to the wearer to be worth the price tag that’s put on them. In my Adidas Adipower 2 review, I’ll break down whether these redesigned classics meet that criteria, who should give them a shot and who should pass on them.

The 22mm effective heel height is at the high end of the range, which I prefer for positioning and overall performance. Outsole The Powerlift 4 is one of the few true-to-size weightlifting shoes on the market. This means you can safely wear them in your normal size without any fitting issues. The Winner: TieThat’s still true at the end of the day, but if you were to ask me whether the Adidas Adipower 2 or the Nike Romaleos 4 are the better overall weightlifting shoe, I’d probably go with the latter. Like the Adipowerss, the Roms 4 aren’t meant for running or other training purposes, but you’re going to get more stability and durability out of them for the same price. And the Roms can help you with more than just Olympic or CrossFit training—they’re great for powerlifting as well. Adidas Adipower 2 Weightlifting Shoes Specs Price However, we must keep in mind that Nike released the Romaleos 4 in April 2020; It may be a bit too early to judge their durability. Price At the end of the day, the type of training you do will influence how good these feel on your feet.

Regarding similarities, both models feature an upper midfoot strap composed of velcro, canvas, and a metal loop. Additionally, both shoes feature upper constructions built with a minimum of 50% recycled content. Want to find the best weightlifting shoe for you? The design here is basic and solid, kind of resembling the construction of Nordic Powerlifting Shoes. On the Adipower 2, the outer construction is relatively simple. There’s a full textile woven outer, which feels slightly similar to the canvas used in the Adidas Powerlift 4. The only real difference between these two models is that Adipower 2’s outer construction is slightly more rigid and feels a bit more durable.

I only do the high bar squat and front squat and while I work on mobility daily, it still doesn’t really hold up that well, and I’m looking for a 0.75 inch heel shoe. Similar to the original Adipower 1, the midsole of the Adipower 2 is made of TPU, which delivers excellent rigidity for weightlifting purposes because it doesn’t compress under the heaviest of weights. The biggest difference between these two shoes is the toe box. The legacy Lifter 3 has a noticeably wider toe box, providing plenty of room for toe splay. This can contribute to a more supportive and balanced base depending on foot width. The materials used in building the upper can have a direct effect on your performance. As you’ll see, Adidas stepped up their upper construction game across both models. Adipower 2 Just like the Adipower 2, the Romaleos 4 features a sturdy TPU midsole. However, Nike’s designers chose to keep things more interesting.

The Romaleos 4 are among the few true-to-size powerlifting shoes. You can wear your normal size without encountering any problems whatsoever. Romaleos 4 SE Now that we have the basics covered, it’s time we get into the details and how the differences can affect your performance. Heel Height What I do like about the strap on the Power Perfect III’s, though, is that it sits higher up on the foot, closer to the ankle. This adds to the overall stability of the shoe. The Winner: Power Perfect III

About the Adidas AdiPowder II Weightlifting Shoes

These are on sale for 80 euros right now and I’m not sure if I should get them. I see the adipower 1 getting so much love here but nobody talks about the adipower 2. I’m currently using the power lift 4s and I’m really not happy with them, the heel height is not really that high and the shoe feels kind of cheap, but it’s the budget model so what can I expect. The upper is made from a combination of mesh and synthetic leather. This adds a bit of structure to the shoe while still keeping it breathable. Despite its tougher material, it’s comfortable to wear even when training in a hot environment. The Winner: Power Perfect III The Adidas AdiPowers are one of Adidas’s most popular lifting shoes to date. They could be considered thein-between model of the Adidas PowerLift (lower heel/powerlifting focused) and the Adidas Leistung models (higher heel/weightlifting focus). In addition, they paved the way for Adidas’s use of the popularized TPU heel. Most lifters who bought the Adipower 2 reported that they run small. Once you hold these shoes in your hand, you’ll instantly realize that the forefoot is exceptionally narrower than usual. Overall, the Adidas Adipower 2 performed decently well in multiple lifting settings. Personally, I think this shoe excels for the functional fitness athlete and recreational lifter slightly better than the original Adidas Adipower. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Adipower, however, the Adipower 2’s increased flexibility makes it a bit more accommodating for a variety of activities.

To tell you the truth, both the Adipower 2 and the Powerlift 4 fall in the lightweight category. The former does weigh slightly more, so it’ll give you an extra “cementing” feel that makes the Adipower 2 good squat shoes. Honestly, I haven’t been that impressed with that Adidas Adipower 3, especially for their increased price. I feel as though most lifters, more specifically beginners, will get just as much performance benefit with something like an Adidas Powerlift 5 or Reebok Lifter PR II.

The TPU midsole comes up pretty far into this shoe’s toe box, and it almost limits how much mobility you get with this model. This is an excellent deal, considering all of the features and the amount of stability you get with this shoe. The Winner: Power Perfect III As I mentioned above, the upper construction of the Adipower 2 and the Powerlift 4 pretty similar. So, it shouldn’t surprise anyone when I tell you that the upper here is also made using textile instead of leather. The Adipower 2 is slightly more expensive than the Powerlift 4. In Summary, What’s Unique About These Shoes? The strap features a full fabric construction without any leather reinforcements. Nevertheless, I didn’t stumble upon any user complaining about poor durability.
