You’ve found some combination where you’re really, really sure that you can’t justify Vahl’s price tag. Next up on the Epic Hero train is Junith Eruita . She no longer has the OoML keyword, since subfactions are mostly gone. She also lost her reroll abilities, but gained some very interesting ones. Now if she is leading a unit, she grants that unit -1 to hit, which has some potential for neat combos, like hopping into a Celestian Sacresant unit to make it extra durable. Her other ability grants 1CP if she is on the table at the start of your command phase, which is just wild. Bring her and just get free CP, seems good. She can lead Battle Sisters or Celestian Sacresants, and doesn’t have anything that would stop her from getting into a transport now. So put her with some Sacresants in a rhino for extra funny pulpit popping out shenanigans.

That gives these a role still, albeit probably a reduced one, especially now Sacresants are competing at the same price. One squad to come in from strategic reserves, auto-charge and butcher something then demand a ranged answer is pretty plausible. Three units in many lists, maybe a bit less so. If you play with very heavy terrain that might change as you can still get access to Advance/Charge from the new and improved effects of a Repentia Superior (who also gives a mighty +1 to wound), but they have to apply it in the Command Phase so can’t when emerging from a Transport. Given how good these were before and that they’ve dropped in price it seems unlikely that they should be written off entirely, but they’re appreciably harder to deploy, so be a bit cautious. Also for 1CP, you can use Light of the Emperor on a unit that is below Starting Strength, allowing it to ignore modifiers. Paired with the +1 to Hit from the Detachment ability, this is potentially really strong – though you’ll want the unit you use it on to still be combat-effective. Each Paragon Warsuit is equipped with enough firepower to rival a Dreadnought of the Adeptus Astartes. The warsuit’s left arm is outfitted with a heavy bolter, heavy flamer, or multi-melta, which is augmented by a shoulder-mounted secondary weapon system in the form of a grenade launcher or pair of storm bolters. A 4+ Invulvnerable and reroll 1s to wounds aura are both fantastic, making this a decent HQ choice. Paragon Warsuits With the right Miracle dice in reserve, even the most unlikely roll can become a surefire thing. Is it really an Act of Faith if, by definition, you know exactly what the result will be? The Sororitas certainly think so, and they have very big guns, so that’s good enough for us. The contents of this box comes to a respectable 414 points, leaving you the option of either adding another cheap squad or unit to your boarding force to make the 500 point threshold or absolutely ramming what you’ve got with wargear upgrades. Both options are very viable and will leave you with a strong list to take to the battlefield. Essentially, small units of these are still great line infantry, and there’s a real angle on going big in the new book. Good stuff. ElitesThis is one of the best new datasheets that GW have put out in ages, to an extent that is going to warp army construction and this book around it. As a Sanctified HQ with the Supreme Commander keyword, there are multiple angles to trivially slot her into any Sororitas list, and vanishingly few reasons why you ever wouldn’t even at her 265pts price tag.
