About this deal

For the V2 goggles, the provided battery has USB-C output, here is a longer (130cm) USB-C to barrel cable: https://oscarliang.com/product-bkmj. Note that random USB-C to barrel cable might not work, as the cable provided by DJI has safety mechanism to prevent unexpected damage because the battery outputs 2S voltage. USB-C Data Cable For Video Out Although the flight time stated by DJI is impressive, the actual flight time is likely to be shorter. Flying manual at high speed and doing fancy maneuvers can drain a lot of power from the battery. Many owners of the DJI FPV find that they can only fly their drones for about 10 minutes when doing aggressive flight. The same disparity can be expected of the DJI Avata. Transmission and remote controller Parameter The DJI FPV Battery Blinking is a warning light that comes on when the battery is running low. This can be a useful feature, as it can help you avoid running out of battery power during a flight. However, it can also be frustrating if you are trying to take photos or videos and the light keeps coming on. The batteries may not be properly charged. Make sure you are using the correct charger for your FPV drone batteries and that you are following the charging instructions correctly. Cross-compatibility gives the DJI Avata a clear advantage in this department. The DJI Goggles 2 seems like a more comfortable pair of FPV goggles, although we are yet to see if this meant compromising on resolution or latency. Safety Parameter

If you use the older antennas made for the V1, you will get reduced range with the DJI Drone, but it should be fine if you only fly with Air Units and Vista since it’s only 5.8Ghz. However I find it hard to use because the receiver module tends to come loose easily. You might have to get a 3D printed housing for this. Insert the battery to the aircraft, connect the USB-C charger or PD fast charger to the USB-C port of the aircraft, and the Battery Level LEDs in an array blink successively. Solder a big low ESR capacitor to your ESC/LiPo power pads as per normal builds, or even better, also add a 330uF capacitor to the Vista power and ground pads. The capacitors will prevent freeze frames issues related to noisy power supply, especially on powerful setups. Edit HistoryBut every time you disconnect them, the control board resets and the battery needs a few percent (up to 100 %) of charging to "calibrate" the battery to the new LiPo. The first thing to consider is the temperature. Batteries perform best in moderate temperatures, so if it is very cold or very hot outside, your battery will not last as long. In extreme temperatures, it is best to keep your drone and battery indoors until the conditions improve. That should fix it. However, if the maintenance prompt continues to appear in the goggles, repeat the above steps. For best battery life, DJI recommends you complete these steps every three months or after every 50 charging cycles, whichever comes first. When you see ‘suitable for beginners’ mentioned with regards to the DJI FPV, this means FPV beginners rather than first-time drone users. If you’ve never flown a drone before, it’s highly recommended that you try a standard drone model first to get used to the controls and basic flight maneuvers. If the frame doesn’t provide enough protection to the camera lens, it could be a good idea to use a lens cap to protect it from crashes.

When selecting antennas, make sure you choose LHCP (antenna polarization) because the Air Unit antennas are LHCP. If you are getting RHCP you will also have to replace the Air Unit antenna to RHCP as well. If you mix LHCP and RHCP you will get bad range. TRUERC Singularity Stubby (Omni-directional, 1.9dBi) The larger image sensor and wider ISO range gives the DJI Avata a clear advantage in terms of camera quality. This is not really surprising, as a CineWhoop drone’s main objective is to capture videos. Flight performance Parameter If that doesn’t work, try removing the battery from the drone and then reinserting it. This sometimes helps reset the connection between the battery and the drone. If neither of those methods works, your last resort is to perform a “hard reset” on your battery. After that, the LED should start flashing green. Finally, connect the battery to the aircraft and wait for it to power on. How Do I Wake Up My DJI Battery? If possible, it is best to charge them inside a fireproof bag or container just to be safe. With that said, here are some general tips for charging FPV goggles batteries:Finally, keep an eye on the battery level indicator on your controller or mobile device. This will give you a better idea of how much power is remaining in the battery so that you can land before it runs completely out of juice. DJI FPV Battery Repair When used with the DJI 30W USB-C charger, the battery charging hub can fully charge one battery in approximately 56 minutes and one Intelligent Flight Battery Plus in approximately 78 minutes. After the battery is fully charged, the corresponding LEDs will change to solid green. The battery can be disconnected from the charging hub when charging is complete.

The DJI FPV measures 255 x 312 x 127 millimeters and weighs 795 grams. This makes the DJI FPV substantially larger and heavier than most other FPV drones, likely because of all the extra hardware that you would normally not find in a DIY FPV drone. The bottom line is, even intelligent drone batteries need care. And when they do, you should see this prompt appear on your FPV goggles: “Intelligent Flight Battery requires maintenance.” There are two main reasons to use DJI FPV battery hibernation: to save power and to extend the lifespan of your batteries. If you know you won’t be using your drone for a while (for example, over winter break), then it makes sense to put it into hibernation mode so that the batteries don’t get completely drained. First, make sure that you fully charge your batteries before each flight. This will help to ensure that they have enough power to last for the entire duration of the flight. Both the DJI FPV and Avata are meant to be piloted with FPV goggles, making flights much more immersive and allowing for very precise control. For this reason, compatibility with FPV goggles and FPV performance are two very important metrics to assess these drones. CE: UK, Russia, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Macau, New Zealand, UAE, and other regions. Insert the batteries into the charging hub, connect the charger to the charging hub, and the Status LEDs in an array blink successively. The battery can be fully charged in about 50 minutes. After the battery is fully charged, the corresponding LEDs will change to solid green. The battery can be disconnected from the charging hub when charging is complete. Assuming you are talking about a battery for an FPV headset or goggles, the process is pretty simple. Most batteries will come with a charging cord that plugs into any standard USB port. Once plugged in, the LED indicator on the battery will usually change color to indicate it is charging. Since the drone is geared towards the DJI FPV Goggles V2, the new DJI FPV Controller V2 doesn’t have a phone cradle for attaching a phone. This is unsurprising because you will always get the best experience from FPV drones when flown wearing goggles, as opposed to trying to view the camera feed on a phone or tablet. But it might have been a nice option for those wanting to use the DJI FPV as a traditional drone.
