At just 14.7kg, the EX-2 has an advantage over some of its heftier rivals in terms of portability. Plus, it easily folds up for more manageable transportation. Also, while the scooter is designed to be used with two hands, you can switch to a one-hand mode. There is a camera mount at the front of the device to attach a GoPro or light. The scooter floats on its own in case you need to let go for a second, and its bright orange color is easy to spot. Not all scooters are created equal. The Emove Cruiser makes this abundantly clear. One of my first times riding this e-scooter I kept looking at the battery indicator expecting it to move; it didn't move an inch for miles. I'm a heavy guy and I'm also heavy on the throttle, but I've learned to ease off of it if I want to make it home. That's not the case with the Emove electric scooter -- it just keeps going even with heavy rider weight.

The Storm can support riders up to 330 pounds and when I say "support" I mean both the build and the motors. A lot of products claim to support certain weights but performance generally takes a hard hit when they're pushed close to the edge. That is not the case with the Storm and its dual 1,500-watt hub motors. The price is as substantial as the scooter itself, but you get a great riding experience in return. You're buying into a great community, too, that is good for sharing tips, customizations and meet-ups for all riders. If you want something that's completely safe to use in the rain, we recommend finding something that can survive submersion. That would have an IP rating of IPX7 or above. Glossary of electric scooter terms The Pro motorized scooter still sports dual 500-watt motors but can now hit a top speed of 26 mph and it has an upgraded lithium-ion battery to help out. There are a lot of scooters on the market that can hit around 25 mph but the WideWheel gets up to speed faster. This scooter just wants to take off and is why I don't recommend it for beginners. The company did, however, add a front disc brake to help bring this beast to a stop. It has two riding modes, Eco and Power, and an approximate travel distance of 20 miles. That very much depends the electric scooter model you have and the ingress protection (IP) rating it has. Most commuter electric scooters have protection against water jets from all direction, which gives them an IPX5 or IPX6 rating. However, those aren't recommended to use during rain, especially heavy downpours, most likely in case you encounter flooding.

Just like with US states, different European countries have different e-scooter laws. While many European countries initially banned them, most countries have now softened their stance. They are now legal to ride in most European tourist hubs including France, Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands, but each of these countries has different laws regarding the use of helmets, maximum speed limit and so on. Is there anything else I should know? How fast and far do you want to go, and how often? But, it takes more than that to convince folks, which is why NIU also slapped on amazing features like regenerative brakes, the always-on Halo headlight and rear light, zero starting (which activates as soon as you hit 200 riding meters for safety), and anti-theft. While the impel is-1 remains a decent and cheaper choice, there’s a lot to recommend the Carrera impel is-2, especially if you will be scooting over rough surfaces or need a longer range. A fully kitted-out option from a reliable brand, the Pure Advance Plus is the e-scooter to plump for if you’re willing to spend that little bit extra to get top-of-the-line performance, as well as some luxury design features. Specs-wise, the Advance Plus’s beefy battery gives it an excellent stated maximum range of 31 miles, while its 710W motor proved impressive in testing, with the e-scooter feeling fast and powerful in motion and able to take on hill climbs with ease.Electricity, its pretty damn cool. It makes the ordinary extraordinary. Guitars, toothbrushes, drills - you name it, they've all been amped up and made significantly better thanks to the power of electricity, and this is no exception! Its designed with fun in mind and boy does it deliver! Its loaded with some impressive spec that'll have you whizzing around at speeds of up to 15 mph! There's something addictive about riding around town without having to use your hands for support and simply hopping on and off your ride. That's the experience you get with the InMotion V10F, a simple and reliable piece of transportation tech that's a small, fast and easy to store electric vehicle.

The Levy lightweight scooter is rated to travel about 15 miles on a full charge but that's not at top speed. I would say most riders would get realistically about 7 to 10 miles. But because it's removable, you can easily buy a second batteryand carry it with you. The speed of “legal” electric scooters in UK trials varies slightly. London trials are maxed at 12.5mph, compared to 15.5mph elsewhere. They have GPS to stop the motor in areas outside the trial, and there are “go slo” areas where maximum speed will drop to 8mph. Are electric scooters waterproof? You can also plug the scooter directly into the mains, but we appreciate the ability to take the battery inside and leave dirty scooters outside. The 350W of power remains the same as the original, but the X7 Pro’s range has almost doubled to a seriously impressive 30 miles.Key specs – Range: 17 miles; Top speed: 15mph; E-scooter weight: 14kg; Maximum rider weight: 100kg; Charge time: 5hrs; Motor power: 350W To reduce the risk of taking a tumble, we've added an anti-slip footplate plus grooves in the handles for better control. Then come to a safe and steady stop with the rear foot brake. We've also included a one-year warranty for mum and dad's peace of mind. Thanks to the foldable and lightweight design, it's easy to put in the car boot, and your little one can explore while you're out and about. Of course, the fact that it's got two batteries means it's got an impressively long range – 50 miles to be exact – that TurboAnt pairs with its fast-charging capabilities. You're also getting an extra charger so you can pop out the removable battery and charge both simultaneously, saving you time. I found this thoughtful extra to be incredibly useful, as its saves me a lot of time.
