About this deal

A long battery life of approximately 380-shots per charge ensures you the power you need when on the go. Should you run out of juice, USB charging is available to give you a power boost no matter where you are. The Panasonic Lumix TZ95's 30x zoom lens provides a very versatile focal length of 24-720mm in 35mm terms, as demonstrated below. In terms of key operational features, if you do end up using the Panasonic Lumix TZ95’s EVF, you’ll find that it features an impressive 2.3 million dots of resolution, this improved spec being one of the very few differences indeed between this model and the earlier TZ90. The view via the display itself is best described as life-like on the TZ95. On the top panel little, if anything has changed since the earlier TZ90/ZS70, so let’s talk a little bit about the screen. That’s the same as before too – a 3 inch 1040k dot touch sensitive panel that flips up and over for selfies. As on the COOLPIX A1000 there’s a sensor for auto toggling between the screen and the EVF or you can turn that off and do it manually. The COOLPIX A1000 screen flips down, as well as up, so is more useful for overhead shots. Both models allow you to tap to set the AF area an to focus, but only the TZ95 / ZS80 lets you pull focus during movie shooting by tapping the screen. This feature works better on cameras with a larger sensor such as the Panasonic Lumix GX9that has a shallower depth of field. 4K Photo - shoots at 30fps, you can then select the frame you want in camera later and save the individual frame as a JPEG image.

Another benefit of using the TZ95 over your smartphone is the viewfinder and screen combination, which provides different options depending on how you like to shoot. I've just watched a couple of videos on Youtube. My goodness but using a phone to log location is a pain. With its portable body and huge zoom lens, the Panasonic ZS80 / TZ95 is targeted towards those off on holiday or other travels and who don't want the hassle of a larger camera with interchangeable lenses. The raw shooting option is great for those who intend to process their images later on a computer, while the flip-up screen also makes it ideal for anyone who imagines they will be capturing selfies or group shots – particularly as the face detection works so well. There are a number of similarities between bridge cameras and DSLRs, as well as some major differences. Bridge cameras look a lot like DSLRs, with most bridge cameras looking similar in shape and size to a small DSLR with a regular lens attached. They also offer similar controls to DSLR cameras. You can choose from a range of shooting modes — from manual to fully automatic — as well as manually adjust the shutter speed, aperture, and the ISO. You can also set the camera to ‘auto’ and use it like your point-and-shoot! While its size may suggest a simple snapshot camera, the TZ95 offers photo enthusiasts unadulterated Raw files as well as JPEG capture, plus the ability to shoot up to 4K-resolution video. Aiding ease of use, a familiar red record button on the top plate allows video recording to immediately commerce, whichever alternative mode has been selected on its top plate shooting mode dial. More easily overlooked is a lens control ring. This encircles the retracting zoom lens at the front, with said ring again enabling access to certain pre-assigned settings on the fly. Alternatively, when in ‘iA’ (intelligent Auto) setting, the same lens ring provides an alternative means of zoom adjustment, other than nudging the lever encircling the camera’s shutter release button. On the top is a mode dial for moving between the different exposure modes the camera offers. Enthusiasts will be pleased to note the manual and semi-automatic options here (it also shoots in Raw format), while point-and-shooters are catered for by automatic and scene modes. As is so often the case with small-sensor compact cameras such as the TZ95, it puts in its best performance in good, well-balanced light, being a bit more so-so when that light drops. While we’d conclude that the Panasonic Lumix TZ95 / ZS80 is in many respects an impressive little travel photography option for when you want something with a larger lens and broader focal range than your typical smartphone can manage – along with supplying plentiful creative options – if you do want to dig a little deeper however, there are, inevitably, little operational niggles here.

You can squeeze a lot of subjects into the core 24-20mm equivalent lens reach provided by Panasonic’s TZ95 travel zoom, which, given that the camera otherwise delivers a relatively modest (read ‘small’) sized sensor, remains its biggest boon/draw. The quality of images is however pretty good in most common lighting scenarios and certainly a cut above your compact digital cameras of old.
