About this deal

Would you consider the audio edition of Alcohol Lied to Me - New Edition to be better than the print version? Craig's personal experience with alcoholism gives him a unique perspective on the challenges of quitting drinking and staying sober. He understands the emotional and psychological factors contributing to addiction and knows how to help people overcome them. I started smoking when I was 4. Yes, a little young, but my older brother by 2 years was already smoking and I would tag along with him as his little shadow, so he taught me how to smoke so he wouldn’t be tattled on. My father ultimately found out and we were literally tied to our beds for days. He calls a spade a spade and tells it how it is, alcohol is dangerous, addictive poison that is mis-sold by the advertising industry as something sexy and desirable, when in truth it is a life shortening, carcinogenic drug, that does nothing positive in any of our lives.

I, of course, stopped drinking and smoking when I was pregnant with both my daughter (soon to be 19) and son (16.5). The entire lives of my children have had drinking, smoking and other horrors in them. Is it any wonder my son smokes pot, drinks with friends and has occasionally smoked cigarettes! Of course not! That is his norm.It was so foul, so disgusting it was mind-boggling! How could I have been ingesting this daily, for years, and never smelled it for what it was?

I think the audible gives the correct emphasis on the points Craig is making. He's obviously a gifted speaker and his talents really help drive home his beliefs. It IS a miracle my daughter cannot stand alcohol (or so she says) but does smoke cigarettes (daily) and pot (occasionally).

After college, my early adult working life was filled with happy hours and club hopping. Making and keeping friends seemed to revolve around a tamed down version of college shenanigans, with a sense of responsibility due to having to “get up for work in the morning.” I listened to this book at work because a friend of mine said it was good. It was short so I decided to give it a shot and I'm very glad I did.So here is how you break the loop once and for all. Firstly, stop drinking, I mean today… right now. Books like these helped me get clear and aligned so that I do not have to make daily decisions about alcohol. I simply know the truth about it for me. I know the road will be different now for me, for my children, for the new people in my life. I know it will be weeks before the chemistry in my brain is corrected and years for the damage (whatever damage there is) to my liver to be corrected.
