Although its design feels a bit dull, this laptop has a solid build. Overall, it is a decent gaming laptop. How has Dell got away with building such a specced-up machine for just shy of a grand? They’ve had to cut a few corners. Screen quality in particular has suffered on the altar of compromise. But considering how low the price is, the Dell G3 is still a very good deal for on-the-go gaming. The strongest aspect of the Dell G3 3590 is its serviceability. Unlike the HP Pavilion Gaming 15 or the MSI GP65, the Dell system is easier to upgrade and it doesn't require tearing any warranty seals. Performance is where we expect it to be considering the hardware and the low price of entry makes the system attractive to users who want a decently powerful no frills gaming machine. According to our colorimeter, the G3 15's panel covers a crushingly low 61 percent of the sRGB color gamut. (We consider anything 100 percent and above to be acceptable.) The Asus TUF Gaming FX504 and the Lenovo Legion Y520 covered only 66 and 68 percent, respectively, while the MSI GL62M 7REX took the throne with an impressive 153 percent. The G3 15's battery life is impressive for a gaming laptop, lasting through 6 hours and 37 minutes of web browsing. All other products will be delivered via the fastest available method (excluding bank holidays and weekends) and generally within 3-5 days, depending on customer location. The Dell G3 has a 1TB HDD and 256 GB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. The Dell G5, however, doesn’t have an HDD storage drive. It has only 512 gigs of M.2 NVMe SSD storage.

The Dell G3 15 is a robust gaming laptop with enough power for high graphics levels in Full HD resolution. The Dell G3 15's screen is made up of a 15.6-inch IPS panel and offers a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The brightness is at a good level with an average of 298 nits and is therefore high enough for second place in our range of tested devices. However, this does not apply to the illumination of the panel, which is very low at 81%. With dark picture contents, light screen bleeding is also noticeable. The same applies to the touchpad. It does an okay job. I found it a little unresponsive at times, which can be a matter of life and death in a FPS. But I’d always recommend that any trigger-happy gamer buy a mouse instead of using any laptop touchpad.
