When fully inflated, this board maintains its structural integrity and stability, making it ideal for beginners. We borrowed a 12ft6 dropstitch inflatable SUP on holiday last year and blasted around the bay at Fishguard very effectively so, in the winter, I had a look for a second-hand one. Like what I’ve already said a hundred times, the Goosehill Sailor Touring board is very stable. And even though it is a fast paddle board, it still feels quite sturdy when tried in the water. Aside from that, it has a width of 32” which makes it really easy to balance and navigate.Obviously it’s not going to be as stiff or well made (or expensive!) as an 18psi or 20psi board, but some cheap boards come with a max. rating of 12psi or 13psi, so it’s not bottom of the pile. At 12ft 6in long by 30in wide and with over 300lt of buoyancy it should provide stability for two, and I figured that if I didn’t get on with it I could just sell it in the summer for very near what I’d paid for it. With the Goosehill 12 ‘6, you don’t have to worry about the speed since it has a pointed nose that makes the board quite fast. Deflating the board is super easy-just release the valve and the air start streaming out. Folding up the board is simple. The only hard part was removing the main fin. It was very secure in its position and required some work to remove.
