She was also told she was not allowed to move into the home if she had young children, she told the M.E.N. Starts at Civic Hall Lee Street, Uppermill, Oldham OL3 6AE. 7. Antwerp Mansion Ghost Hunt Credit: Antwerp Mansion

The malevolent spirit was said to have attached itself to a row of council houses and tormented families for years. It’s the cellars which have left people particularly spooked out, with reports of extreme changes in temperature and a sense of foreboding. Other examples of paranormal activity at the hall include objects randomly moving, shadowy apparitions and the sound of voices. However, that is not to say that the Royal Exchange Theatre, which is a Grade II listed building today, is the same building that opened over 200 years ago. Ahh, the Albert Hall. I’m sure we’ve all been there, sweating our tits off and dancing the night away. It’s one of my favourite music venues in fact, and I like nothing more than sipping a beer and rhythmically two-stepping for six hours straight within its historic walls.Last year the street moved to Salford Quays, but cast members claim they have been hit with a series of mishaps ever since. With tales of gruesome murders and tragic deaths, these ghostly figures are undoubtedly tied to the histories of the hotels, as well as the lodgings they haunt. Another ghostly tale tells of the tragic man known as George, a man in his 30s with a pencil moustache - who took his own life in the 1930s while at the hotel. His eternal soul now calls desperately to passers-by from a window on the Brownlow Hill side of the hotel. Legend has it that Wardley Hall used to house a skull that stubbornly resisted all attempts to bury it. They tried throwing it in the moat, but this caused such tempestuous storms that the water had to be drained so that the skull could be retrieved and returned home.

Between July 1963 and October 1965, Myra Hindley and Ian Brady kidnapped, tortured, and murdered five children. The battered corpses of four of their five victims were discovered in shallow graves on Saddleworth Moor, which led their disgusting acts to be labelled “the Moors murders”. The ice and chilly air won’t be the only thing making you shudder at Skate Manchester this October. The arena has something spooky up their sleeve, namely some curiously creepy décor and fancy dress is more than encouraged. New for this year, the spooktacular Manchester ice rink will see a frightfully realistic giant spider take centre stage this Halloween, wrapped in a bright white LED light web around the sparkling Christmas tree centre piece. 3. The team were great and really guided us through an eventful and terrifying night. Would I do it again???? Definately." It was here that the Moors Murderers called home, and it was once reported that the sound of crying children could be heard in the months following their imprisonment. Damaged by bombings at the hands of both the German army and the IRA, the Royal Exchange Theatre has often been the scene of chaos. This, along with the multiple renovations to the building, may explain the many eerie occurrences and supposed paranormal events witnessed at the theatre.

The incidents reportedly baffled maintenance workers who could not determine the cause of the issues. A boggart, for the uninitiated, is a mischievous spirit that typically occupies fields and marshes, but can also be found indoors. Though mostly known as a mischief-making creature that has the ability to turn milk sour, make objects disappear and make dogs go lame, they also have a darker side. Spooks Include: The ghost of the former Lord of Ordsall Hall, John Radcliffe and Cecily a young woman who brings with her a smell of roses.Wardley Hall is one of the oldest buildings in the North West and among only a few to be mentioned in the Domesday Book. While it is today known as Wardley Hall, the building spent the first 200 years as “Skull House”. The library also houses another phantom clergyman, who has been seen searching the shelves for a book. This anxious spirit is thought to be one of the Carmelites who died unexpectedly and his soul is forever tied to his quest for knowledge.
