If GelTears is used at the same time with other eye drops/eye ointments, there should be an application time interval of approximately 15 minutes between use of such other medications and GelTears should always be the last medication to be applied. Studies have not been performed to evaluate the effect of topical ocular administration of hypromellose on fertility. Hypromellose is a pharmacologically inert compound and it would not be expected to have any effect on fertility.

The recommended dosage for adults, children and elderly is one or two drops topically instilled into the eye three times daily as needed, or as directed by a physician. GelTears is sterile until first opened. It is important to keep the tube as clean as possible during use. In the unlikely event that you develop irritation to the eye or eyes in which you have applied Hylo-Tear Eye Drops you should stop using these drops straight away. If your symptoms do not improve, speak to a doctor for advice. Hylo-Tear eye drops are suitable for adults and children of all age groups and can also be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding. The safety and efficacy of GelTears in children and adolescents at the posology recommended in adults has been established by clinical experience, but no clinical trial data are available.
