My mom always had a saying about worries and troubled thoughts (...): To speak about it is to will it into existence. And to will it into existence is to let it occupy your thoughts more. And to let it occupy your thoughts more is to enhance your anxiety” Even though it took me a while to finish, it didn’t take away from the experience this book gave me. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗜’𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲. But I’m giddy and thrilled because of how this gorgeous boy with soulful eyes and a deep, dimpled smile is squeezing himself into my life and offering me a type of comfort and company I didn’t realize I wanted.

Midnight Kisses Quotes by Jeanine Bennedict - Goodreads

Suddenly, what’s supposed to be a just-one-more-time lapse in judgment turns into a recurring mistake, one they both enjoy immensely. But like all relationships, the two hit an impasse. Greta has never been good with emotions—feeling them, dealing with them, and most of all, surrendering herself to them. But that’s how it always is, isn’t it? Someone becoming important doesn’t happen all at once. They seep in. It’s nature. It always takes a small seed to grow something profound.” Greta and Otis start a (kinda secret but not really) friends-with-benefits relationship after having an electric one night stand. AND I MEAN ELECTRIC. Their chemistry is off the charts in and out of the bedroom. I don’t feel like writing a review rn feeling very drained but I think all you need to know is reverse/grumpy sunshine you're welcome :) I miss that, the rush of endorphins that would strike me when I liked someone and the frantic patter of my heart when I would hear my phone ding with a text notification. More than anything, I miss having someone I can talk to about anything and everything, engaging in dumb, meaningless conversations that provide nothing but the comfort of having someone there.”I love the characters. They are deeply flawed and their problems hit to close too home *cough* Otis *cough* It’s a very character driven book and with such a real connection. I loved that. The reason it doesn’t have 5 stars it’s because Otis had some red flags but i’m glad he got the help and still making improvements. Midnight Kisses is a modern masterpiece, a powerful novel that can be read on its own. This novel is written by Jeanine Bennedict. She is a true storyteller, and Midnight Kisses is her best book. It is an epic tale of family, secrets, loss, marriage, betrayal, friendships, laughter, and regrets. Midnight Kisses is a heartfelt novel written with compassion and hope, reconciling the past to pave a road to happiness and second chances. The characters in this novel bring life and heart to this story, each with a distinct voice and personality. They made readers love them, they made readers sad, they made readers angry, they made readers laugh, they made readers cry, and they made readers believe in the promise of love and home. I love the author’s writing and how she brought out the good and the ugly in all the characters. And the fact that this is a debut is amazing! I can’t wait to read more of her work in the future.

From here, Johnny becomes attracted to Prudence. Things get complicated when she encounters Mary ( Marjorie Reynolds), one of Johnny's colleagues, whom she assumes is in love with him. The casting crew should all be fired. Adelaide Kane's character was the best in that she portrayed a person that was NOT interested in her brothers college buddy. When this herkie actor showed up we all said I hope this is not supposed to be her love interest. Unfortunately he was. Otis and Greta were perfect. Otis was such a puppy and Greta a ball-buster. They balanced each other out in the best way. I loved seeing them grow and change and watch them fall in love. The pace, in the middle part, got slow. It helped for character development and getting to know the characters but it got slow. I will considered this a slow burn but not your typical one. If you read it, you’ll know what i’m talking about. Will I be able to tolerate his imperfections and accept his past mistakes? Will he accept mine? I'm not perfect. I'm so aware of that. But I hope he'll want me all the same.” is difficult to like sometimes but she’s always so unashamedly herself no matter the consequences which was prime entertainment for me lol. She’s hilarious and I loved her character development. It was a journey watching her grow and learn. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐎𝐧𝐠. It took me literal ages to finish this book, true, but tbh that's more on real life messiness than anything else. ALTHOUGH this book is kinda freakishly long for romance standards and tbh, not all of it was needed, were I an editor, I think I'd go crazy with that delete button and cut like 1/5 - 1/4 of it xD
