My initial impression with the Zeiss VR One Plus is quite good. The product has a solid build and a futuristic design. Inside the box, we have the headset, 2 head straps, a cleaning wipe, and an AR cube. An advantage of the headset is its eye-box design; it can be worn with your eyeglasses and you don’t need to make any lens adjustment. The VR One Plus is basically Google VR Cardboard, but a nice one. The unit looks polished with a premium feel and is very comfortable to wear. The fit is a bit top heavy depending on what device you have inside the tray, however they’re all like that to a degree. There’s some good cardboard content out there so get viewing, it’s pretty cool. Great for 360 video and augmented reality maybe even some 1st person quad-copter flights. VR One Plus adjustable straps The Fit The lenses provides approximately 100 degrees Field of View. The imagery is crisp and clear however does give a bit of a fishbowl experience until you get a little used to it. Initially we got some headaches like when you first wear glasses and it can be a little disorienting. Once we got used to the unit a bit more it gets better but as with any vr headset you should limit your time and take breaks often.The AR app can be used with the AR cube only to view. Since there are no buttons on the Plus, you can’t really play anything. The Cinema app lets you watch VR movies and videos. I also had issues with the fixed lenses causing the image to not appear as it should. This was more an issue with individual apps, but adjusting lenses would've helped. The Carl Zeiss VR/Exposition app on the other hand is a lot more sedate. It takes you on a tour of an art gallery that features two artists, allowing you to get up close to the artwork from the comfort of your sofa. Finally, the VR One Cinema allows you to downscale video and other content to a VR experience, but the nearly SD-level quality makes for a very disappointing experience.
