Fast X is practically all set up for Fast & Furious 11 (and potentially beyond), so let's run through what's left hanging at the end. Letty and Cipher are stranded in Antarctica, but help has arrived in the form of the previously-dead Gisele who now seems to be going around in a submarine. (Not the one from Fast & Furious 8 as that was destroyed.) Neither of these are confirmed in the first trailer, but we do at least know why Dante is out for revenge. Development is already underway on the 11th movie with Fast X director Louis Leterrier returning for the new movie, which will be written by Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel. Given the post-credits scenes, we expected that a sequel would happen and in March 2020, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that the sequel was in development.

Even though Fast & Furious 11 hasn't been written yet, the events of Fast X were written with knowledge of where all this will end, so even though it doesn't feel conclusive, it will all come together. The major casualty of Fast X was John Cena's Jakob Toretto who sacrifices himself to help Dom save his son. Jakob's car blew up with him in it, but we didn't technically see a body, so in this series, you can never say never. Speaking to a reporter ahead of the film's premiere in Rome, the actor teased that the finale could in-fact be three films long when asked about the future of his character Dom Toretto. After his surprise return in Fast X's credit scene, Johnson announced that his standalone movie would act as "a fresh, new chapter & set up" for Fast X Part 2. We don't yet know when that'll arrive though, so that's all we know for now.Whether we actually get an extra Fast & Furious movie is yet to be confirmed by Universal, but we're definitely getting Fast & Furious 11 or Fast 11 or Fast X Part 2 or whatever they want to call it. It was the movie that shifted the series into the one fans know and love today, culminating in Dom and Brian driving a vault through the streets of Rio. We never expected then that it'd be viewed as one of the least unbelievable moments in the series. We've finally been treated to the four-minute(!) long trailer for Fast X and while there's not quite a surprise on par with Han's return in F9's first trailer, it did reveal a surprising detail when it comes to Jason Momoa's flamboyant villain Dante. Over its nine movies to date (excluding spin-off Hobbs & Shaw), the Fast & Furious series has been building an interconnected universe that can sometimes rival the MCU.
