In April 2020, she started writing for Android Authority, covering listicles, helpful how-to's for Android devices, and content on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. They’re not built as well as more-expensive pairs, the ANC isn’t the strongest, and they have a sound quality that’s firmly in “fun” consumer territory. But these are fine compromises for a headphone that costs so little. When it comes to audio quality, the Edifier has a little more definition and control in the bass, while the A10 comes across as slightly warmer in tone. Nonetheless, both headphones offer similar audio quality and technical performance. Therefore, the choice between the two ultimately comes down to personal preference. Welcome to the @regancipher review of OneOdio's over-ear hybrid ANC headphones, the upgraded for 2022 Focus A10. With the glut of TWS passing through the RC test bench, it has been a while since I've documented a review of a wired/wireless headphone here at Headfi - the last ones being the Soundcore Q series and Tronsmart Apollo Q10 - but the competitive price and impressive feature set definitely catch the eye with the A10, and with OneOdio being a specialist over-ear vendor, rather than a TWS manufacturer going off on a tangent, this has been a review I've been really looking forward to doing, having put the product rigorously through it's paces over the course of the last few weeks.

The pads do a little over half of the heavy lifting in the isolation department, and you’ll notice a bigger drop in noise from first putting on the headphones compared to turning the ANC on.

Friendly Design, Superior Comfort – A custom-designed over-the-ear super soft protein cushions to provide pillow-like softness while listening, and an adjustable headband suitable for all-day wear One such contender is the OneOdio A10, a very attractively-priced pair of headphones with active noise cancellation technology. In my experience, these headphones are a great entry-level option for commuters and students who want to focus on their podcasts or Lo-Fi hip hop beats.

Nothing here outright screams “cheap” or “bad,” with no creaking or squeaking apparent during my time with them. I’ll post a small update should that change in the future. Like many modern headphones, OneOdio's A10 Hybrid ANC headphones can fold down compactly to fit inside a case---which is included, by the way. Where the ear cups fold down, the joints are reinforced metal, which is nice for longevity since the joints are always the first piece to break in a pair of headphones. Build quality is that which you can expect from low-priced headphones, so it’s not exceptional, but it’s still quite good for the price. There’s no creaking whatsoever while wearing the headphones, but there is some if you bend the headband sideways with some force. The fit is very comfortable and the look is very subtle as far as over-ears go - I found myself only making occasional micro-adjustments, and the low clamping force means your ears won't get too sweaty, which is always a big bonus, but on the flip side it can occasionally result in some sound leakage, and comfort is optimised over noise reduction. It means that the A10 are better suited to casual listening and the daily commute over exercise, where excessive motion can result in the headphones moving around quite a bit - you'll be fine with a dash to make the train, but I wouldn't run 10km in them.

Comfort

Midrange is often recessed and distant. It does have a peak in the upper section, though, which often makes it overly bright, almost to the point of being strident. This is especially noticeable with high-pitched instruments such as trumpets or violins. Just like with bass, transients are not really fast, and detail is limited as well. I have some reservations about the controls. For starters, the volume buttons are inverted, whereas the bottom button increases volume and vice versa. The only issue is with those chrome earcups: they show up greasy fingerprints badly and need constant cleaning. The one particularity that I noticed is how the voices sounded very close to my ears, but without any loss in clarity. At the same time, the instruments are not very clearly defined, but overall, it’s still a pleasant experience unless you’re searching for audiophile level of performance which the A10 can’t provide. OneOdio A10 on a stand. I conducted most of my listening tests wirelessly with the ANC turned on because, unusually, the A10s sound rather less composed when connected by cable.

Outdoors, it's a similar story - in relatively sterile environments, your calls will be fine, but add wind and traffic to the mix, and dealing with multiple sources of obfuscation is more challenging. Even so, considering there are no stems, calls are certainly doable - a very credible attempt. In conclusion, the OneOdio Focus A10 wireless headphones offer a modern design, sturdy build quality, and comfortable earpads. With the added convenience of foldable earcups and a rotating design, these headphones are an excellent choice for those who value both style and functionality. Battery Life So, what’s new? The design is slightly altered since the earcups are now covered by silver metallic plates, the battery has seen an increase to 800mAh (from 750mAh) and there is now support for the multi-point connection. I know Sony postponed adding this feature up until the fourth generation of ANC headphones (on its WH-1000XM4), so seeing it on a fairly inexpensive pair of headphones is a fantastic feat. OneOdio A10 ANC Headphones. HONG KONG, Oct. 31, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- OneOdio, the professional audio innovator, has achieved a significant milestone as its A10 Noise Canceling Headphone was named to CNET's Best Over-Ear Headphones of 2023. Bass is to the fore, although sometimes just a little woolly but there’s plenty of detail to be heard as long as the source is good.

The connection is stable, but it doesn’t offer a wide range. Since it’s so rare to see support for Multipoint not only on budget-friendly headphones, but even on the more expensive ones, people don’t really know that there can be some nuances on how this technology can be implemented. Some manufacturers allow only the connection of two phones, other support both phones and computers. I did try connecting the OneOdio A10 to both an iPhone and a Desktop PC, and it worked just fine. The process is quite simple. OneOdio A10 connected to a PC and to an iPhone at the same time. In conclusion, both headphones are excellent options for those looking for wireless headphones with similar features and sound signatures. The Edifier is slightly cheaper, but its build quality is inferior to the A10, and it doesn’t come with a carrying case. Verdict Overall, the A10 is an excellent choice for those who prioritize comfort and smooth sound over ultimate detail and accuracy. There’s ample bass without being overpowering, plenty of midrange forwardness and a clear smooth treble. Comparisons Edifier W820NB
