Yet another of Diageo’s stable of “blending fodder” – some malt distilled at Lochnagar finds its way into Johnnie Walker (Blue, in particular) and Vat 69, but the majority of the output of Diageo’s smallest distillery (smallest in production volume, that is) is now bottled as a single malt. This includes a Distiller’s Edition finished in Moscatel casks and an NAS Selected Reserve edition aged in sherry casks. The distillery’s single malt does not seem to find distribution into the US, except via a few independent bottlings which are few and far between. If you are visiting Balmoral, you could very well plan a visit to this little distillery too. It is set in beautiful surroundings and that adds to the charm of this place. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who wish to enjoy a tour in a most relaxed manner and setting.

To mark the 175th Anniversary of Royal Lochnagar, a special and rarely released mid-aged Malt is released at natural cask strength. And on this occasion, it is important to understand the history of the 175 years and how they came to begin. I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband as it’s one of his favourites. I was very impressed with the service and communication. It actually came the next day, so very happy. Would definitely use this company again.

Royal Lochnagar is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. In addition to the 12-year-old single malt, the distillery's two pot stills also produce a large amount which is used in the Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. I would highly recommend making a visit to this distillery over others as it has a more intimate / boutique feel! Nose: Grain-forward (puffed barley), lemon peel, fresh banana, airy with light fruits and mild floral perfume. A rest in the glass only intensifies the banana notes. I don’t know what banana flowers smell like, but I’d guess it’s something like this.RL 12 is very light and smooth, may not be for the fans of the Island malts, there is a just enough depth to keep me interested.
