Description

After testing by UseBenchmark, the 4k-read speed of Samsung Fit Plus is 14.3 MB/s and the 4k-write speed is 12.2 MB/s. It has a capacity of 128GB. If you use a portable operating system, this drive is helpful for performance enhancement. SanDisk Extreme Pro SDCZ880 is one of the fastest USB flash drives on write speed. The advertised read speed is 420 MB/s, while the UserBenchmark read speed is 297 MB/s. According to the released information, the write speed is 380 MB/s. However, the actual write speed tested by UserBenchmark is 264 MB/s. Our more hands-on tests were even more disappointing. SanDisk boasts that a full-length 4K movie can be transferred in 15 seconds. It took about 40 seconds to transfer Avengers: Infinity War with an average write speed of 135 MB/s as we reached the upper limits of what our internal hard disk could handle (about 140 Mb/s). Up to 35X faster than standard USB 2.0 drives, so you can transfer a full-length 4K movie to the drive in less than 40 seconds. Work as fast as you need to with premium performance and huge capacities in a portable yet tough and reliable USB flash drive.

Aluminum Metal Casing for Durability. Custom made and designed products such as flash memory products with custom logo’s on them. It’s also important to note that for most users, there’s not much appreciable difference between 150 MB/s and 350 MB/s in terms of transfer speed. Anything over 100 MB/s feels lightning fast, whether you’re transferring single large video files, media collections, or system folders.

4 Fastest USB Flash Drives [The Latest Update] - MiniTool Top 4 Fastest USB Flash Drives [The Latest Update] - MiniTool

I have deducted 1 star because it can have sharp edges. Mine has one tiny area that is too sharp, but I imagine others might have a worse problem. The housing is made from an aluminum extrusion, and if not properly de-burred after it is cut to length at an angle, it will have sharp edges. It seems that they are not always sufficiently de-burred. As a photographer I have many drives here at home and in my photography studio. I choose the Samsung T3 and 850 Pro as test comparisons for a couple reasons. One the T3 is also a 3.1 portable drive. Two the 850 Pro is in an enclosure that has gotten consistent speeds for as long as I have owned the drive. Also since USB 3.0 peaks at about 540MBs none are rated to go over that. So most 3.1 drives will max out a 3.0 port and get to their full potential on a 3.1 if they are rated higher then what a 3.0 port can handle. Again none of these are rated to get higher than a 3.0 port so should get to their full potential on both 3.0 and 3.1.There have been some questions about my testing on this drive. Thought I would add a bit to how I came to my 3 star rating. I am adding a photo that shows a few different test. The first two at the top are the Sandisk on my Surface Studio. I did test it on a 2016 Macbook pro that has 3.1 built in and as you can see it does get a bit higher numbers. For full disclosure since this is type a connector had to use a dongle but I get higher speeds through that dongle with other drives. In the end I still give this 3 stars as it should perform reasonable on both Windows and Mac. (IMO) If you are only using Mac than this would be 4 stars. Also the random read and write are simply just sad slow compared to other drives. Where this can be felt is loading a large Premier project with lots of little video clips. In my testing it took at least double the time to load the same project compared to the T3 or 850 Pro. The test read speed of Kingston DataTraveler 100 G3 is 138 MB/s and the write speed is 48 MB/s. It doesn’t have that high speed as the above two USB flash drives, but it is cheap and fast enough for normal use. SanDisk Extreme Pro Solid State Flash Drive Review - Lifewire SanDisk Extreme Pro Solid State Flash Drive Review - Lifewire

It arrived formatted in exFAT which is fine and all but, for my use I redid it with a FAT32 / NTFS split for imaging devices and it's pretty snappy when installing windows 10 from it. The copying files portion clipped along at 1%-3% increments per second to an NVME drive in the laptop. Transfer speeds improved a bit when using our internal Solid State drive, which has transfer speeds of around 500 MB/s. We were able to get up to 185 MB/s but still ran into the problem of speeds dropping off sharply halfway through the read process. The SanDisk Extreme Pro can achieve some bonkers transfer speeds — if your PC can take advantage of them — and is a durable and ultra-compact alternative to a traditional external solid state drive. But it can’t perform as advertised, and for the price, most people will be better off buying a less expensive drive with less power or investing in a typical storage drive with better capacity and speed for the money.
