It’s Forest of Reading time again, which means that as Kait reads the picture books in the running at school, we also read along at home. to "clear" each movie, you should play a mini game where sheep men tries to cast a sleep spell on you, while you should press their corresponding button to hit them. there are total of 8 combinations ( ). With his usual techniques thwarted, Duncan finds himself bored and his mom recommends counting sheep to pass the time before falling asleep. Much to his surprise, counting sheep is more entertaining than he anticipated...

Sleep deprived parents will appreciate ewan the dream sheep just as much as their tired tot does! Designed to recreate the soothing sensation of the womb, ewan emits soft sounds at the low base frequency that babies hear in the womb, known as pink noise and combines this with a calming warm glow, to reassure your baby or toddler. Plays 4 ‘pink noise’ soothing sounds: vacuum cleaner, rainfall, harp melody and a recording of the womb.

That night, after his favorite bedtime story and a hug and kiss from Mom, Duncan's left nearly speechless. He has a Velcro tail that also functions as a strap, making him portable and easy to strap onto prams, cots, or cribs. He’s also machine washable - ideal for the messy baby stage of life. Soon, Duncan learns just how frustrating it must be for his mom to put him to bed, as he is forced to contend with this steadily stalling sheep. An adorable bedtime story for all ages, really. So he does… At first, its kind of fun. As he counts, each sheep appears, wearing its number like a race car, and leaps over the bed. But when Sheep #68, who hesitates. He needs a drink of water before he can jump. Then he has to go to the bathroom. Then he wants to put on running shoes. Will Sheep #68 ever do what he’s supposed to?

This is the author's debut book and it is delightful. Duncan likes the prep before bed... brushing his teeth with bubble gum toothpaste, changing into his jammies, cuddling with mom as she reads him his bedtime story but the thing he dislikes most? He doesn't like to drift off to sleep. From the Publisher: There are lots of things Duncan likes about bedtime --- the stories, the pajamas, the bubblegum-flavored toothpaste ... The only thing he doesn't like is going to sleep. And he'll do anything he can to avoid it. Until one day, Duncan's mom has had enough of his stalling. “Try counting sheep,” she tells him. So, he does. At first, it's kind of fun. As he counts, each sheep appears, wearing its number like a race car, and leaps over the bed. But then comes Sheep #68, who hesitates. He needs a drink of water before he can jump. Then he has to go to the bathroom. Then he wants to put on running shoes. Will Sheep #68 ever do what he's supposed to? I haven't had a problem with this until the 2nd half of the last movie, I'm just not fast enough... This fantastic story about counting sheep at bedtime was a hit with our 5 year old, J. His favorite part was when the mother prepares the boy’s room with everything he may possibly need for bedtime. We have finally reached the place where bedtime is enjoyable with J. The struggle is still very real with our 3 year old though. She is very much like the little boy in this book, except our process often involves tears. When the mother suggests to the little boy that he count sheep I asked J if he knew what that was. He said he saw it on a show once but he didn’t know why you do that. I believe the book did a great job of connecting the idea of counting sheep for sleep and illustrating the concept. When we got to the part where sheep number 68 is hesitating to jump I asked J if this sheep reminded him of anyone else. He was able to identify that the sheep was like the boy avoiding sleep.Having tested a variety of sleep aids myself, I feel the high quality of Ewan’s relaxing sounds - and his cuteness, of course - make him worth the price. Thanks to NetGalley and publisher Kids Can Press for the ebook ARC of Sleep, Sheep! by Kerry Sparrow in exchange for an honest review. Sleep, Sheep! is a picturebook written by Kerry Lyn Sparrow and illustrated by Guillaume Perrault. There are lots of things Duncan likes about bedtime; the stories, the pajamas, the bubblegum-flavored toothpaste. The only thing he doesn't like is going to sleep, and he'll do anything he can to avoid it. One day Duncan's mom has had enough of his stalling. My six year old was clearly on Duncan’s side. He so identified with him and laughed and became excited during parts of this. We both thought the first half of the tale with Duncan’s sleep dilemma was better than the second half. The book was so cute, the illustrations were nice and each sheep had a personality with their attire. I think children and adults would enjoy this bedtime story. A cutish book about a boy who can't sleep, who has come with excuses why he can't sleep, and is told to count sheep, so he does.

Thank you to NetGalley , Kids Can Books, and author Kerry Lyn Sparrow for this review copy in exchange for our honest opinion. Sleep, Sheep! is an amusing little story with fun illustrations. I'm sure this will be a favourite for a lot of little ones. Touché sheep #68. Way to give Duncan a taste of his own procrastination techniques. Kids should find this funny and entertaining while adults will be hoping that kids catch on to the point of the story. I can just see a family reading this and calling each other on becoming sheep #68 if they’re procrastinating going to bed. Highly recommended to anyone who has to go to bed before they want to or any adults who have to put kids to bed before they want to go. (And of course it is also good for an entertaining read.) ewan mimics the comfort of the womb with a soft red, melatonin inducing glow, similar to what baby would see from within the 'bump'.

Suffolk Sheep on Grey | Organic Acupressure Eye Pillow | 100% Cotton | Yoga, Stress and Anxiety Relief, Sleep | Hot and Cold CompressThe fact that the Ewan Deluxe Sleep Sheep is machine washable with a removable control pod is another selling point, as this prolongs his life span and makes him easy to keep clean to reuse for future children or to sell on in the future. There are lots of things Duncan likes about bedtime --- the stories, the pajamas, the bubblegum-flavored toothpaste ... The only thing he doesn't like is going to sleep. And he'll do anything he can to avoid it. Until one day, Duncan's mom has had enough of his stalling. ?Try counting sheep,? she tells him. Duncan knows how to resist bedtime by asking for water, or another story, or another pillow... after getting everything he may possibly need one night, his mom tells him to count sheep. Duncan does, but what happens when #68 is a little uncertain about jumping?
