I get a lot of inspiration from my children and the things they talk about. The stories I loved when I was growing up give me a lot of inspiration – I loved Enid Blyton’s adventure stories and Alan Garner, who used to write fantasy set in Cheshire where I grew up. The process for Luna to learn about spiders and the see the values beyond human desires. I wish more humans would learn that lesson. Lana and Harrison love playing in a tree in their grandparent's garden. It's their favourite place to be so when they find out that it's under threat, they know something must be done. Luna is woken up by a spider threat link to her fingers. Then an adventure begins with her following the threat to a land of magic and spider queen.

This is a great story that will appeal to children and adult: well developed characters, a fabolous world building. Climb into the adventure of your dreams in the next classic adventure from bestselling author, Ben Miller. But one night, an golden, enchanted thread wrapped around Lana's finger leads them up through their favourite tree through their tree into a magical land. To get the approval of other human adults, many literature try to please the readers by adding unnecessary spices, or try to be difficult with too much symbols and hidden vague meanings. That probably is separate category of art of not getting the point across to reader in the most direct way possible. It is sophisticated when done right, and boring and pretentious when not done right. I am kind of tired of that as I do find some modern literature overly pretentious. I liked the main plot point of the spiders. In my experience, most people do not think favourably of spiders, and a lot of the children I know fall into that category. And whilst I’m not about to go and stroke a spider, I think this book could do a lot to change their perspective, especially for children.

Thanks to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Children for the advanced copy of this title in return for an honest review. That night, a magical golden thread leads them up through the hollow of the tree into a magical storybook land where a terrifying beast terrorises all who live there. Then when Harrison is kidnapped by the evil Spider Queen, Lana knows she must do whatever it takes to find him. I wanted to read this book as I read other stories by Ben Miller and they're alwyas well plotted and gripping. By bestselling author, comedian and beloved actor, Ben Miller, who brings you another magical and hilarious story that both adults and children will enjoy!

There is a group of spiders living near there. Luna wants to have a new playground which is promised as part of development. Harrison wants to save the spider and delay the project. When Harrison is kidnapped by the evil Queen, Lana must do whatever it takes to find him, save the villagers and restore the balance of the storybook world, before the night is out.Subjects: Classic fiction (Children's / Teenage) , General fiction (Children's / Teenage) , Adventure stories (Children's / Teenage) , Fantasy & magical realism (Children's / Teenage) , Family & home stories (Children's / Teenage) , Humorous stories (Children's / Teenage) , Children's / Teenage fiction: Nature and animal stories , Children's / Teenage fiction: Humorous stories , Children's / Teenage fiction: Action and adventure stories , Juvenile Fiction / General , Juvenile Fiction / Action & Adventure / General , Juvenile Fiction / Animals / General , Juvenile Fiction / Animals / Bears , Juvenile Fiction / Fairy Tales & Folklore / General , Juvenile Fiction / Family / Multigenerational , Juvenile Fiction / Family / Siblings , Juvenile Fiction / Fantasy & Magic , Juvenile Fiction / Humorous Stories Show Delivery with Standard Australia Post usually happens within 2-10 business days from time of dispatch. The underlying message to look after our ecosystem, even the parts that aren't cute and cuddly, was really heart-warming. I love that this is a unique theme that I haven't seen in many other middle grade novels (so far!). I found myself really caring about the spiders by the end of the book too, which I think was the point. The writer makes you feel and understand things from the spider’s perspective.Climb into the adventure of your dreams in the bestselling adventure from bestselling author, Ben Miller ! He’s got a really interesting story but you’re not sure how friendly a bear he is to start with. He’s a little offhand with Lana but he ends up being her friend and ally. I like the character of the bear. He takes her to his cave and makes lots of magical potions in his cave and I think that would be a really fun place to go – into a bear’s cave!
