Side C was problematic on my original 2017 copy, particularly Threnody, so I bought this newer version, believing it would be better. It was hardly any better, and I only had more problems with Side D.

A perfect record. Probably the only band who not only can do Badalamenti's score justice, but maybe also the only two people on the planet who 'get' David Lynch. Xiu Xiu's best work in years.

Much like the original show, this movie started out fantastically, with some amazing "surprise" appearances/performances (Bowie, Isaak) to add to that. Then it fell flat, and for me, they totally burst the bubble with revealing way too much about Leland Palmer (Laura's father) and the ongoings in the Palmer family. It was also difficult for me to accept that they exchanged Lara Flynn Boyle with Moira Kelly. UGH... No one does a better Donna Hayward than Lara did. Australia’s Gallery of Modern Art commissioned Xiu Xiu to reinterpret the music from Twin Peaks for their David Lynch: Between Two Worlds exhibition. Since then, the band has performed select concerts all over the globe culminating in a proper studio album of the compositions. Selected items are only available for delivery via the Royal Mail 48® service and other items are available for delivery using this service for a charge. Recorded at Excalibur Sound except A6 recorded at Capital Recording and B6 to B8 recorded at Group IV Recording. After watching, I sat down to scribble just how cool this Twin Peaks inspired vinyl flooring would be in the right home. (And not just in a portal to another world or a corner of Agent Cooper’s mind).

There is a surreal atmosphere in David Lynch’s projects. He injects such a unique personality across all his work. He’s one of only a few filmmakers that after ten minutes or so, you know that he’s behind what you’re watching. His stuff feels individual and separate from each other and still so similar and recognisable at the same time. Twin Peaks is no exception. This post was published a while ago.
