Watch our interview with Laura Ellen Anderson, celebrating the release of Amelia Fang and the Memory Thief: About The Amelia Fang Books Here’s a fab pic of Laura Ellen Anderson, the author and illustrator of the series, dressed-up as Amelia when we filmed her reading from her first book Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Balllast year in a creepy graveyard.Amelia and friends live in the spooky land of Nocturnia, which means that you can take the Halloween costume box down from the attic 6 months’ early! And when the King’s spoiled son Tangine captures Squashy, Amelia and her friends must escape the party to plan a daring rescue! In their race against time, they begin to realise things in Nocturnia may not be quite what they seem . . . Get ready to sink your teeth into the fourth book of the spook-tacular series, Amelia Fang and the Half-Moon Holiday. In book two, Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords, Amelia and her friends Florence, Grimaldi and Prince Tangine (along with her pet pumpkin Squashy) must brave the journey to the terrifying Kingdom of the Light to try to find Tangine’s missing mother, Queen Fairyweather. But with unicorns, fairies and angel-kittens lurking around every corner, who can they trust? And will they finally uncover the real villain keeping the kingdoms of Light and Dark as mortal enemies?

When Cadpig gets lost playing hide-and-seek, she stumbles into the path of the evil Cruella de Vil. But can her new furry friends help her escape? One of the things I’ve loved most about writing Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball has been creating the world that Amelia and her friends live in. It’s such fun to let my imagination run wild and to create a gothic setting for their adventures. Originally appearing in Dodie Smith’s story The Hundred and One Dalmatians, Cruella has become a classic baddie and is guaranteed to give anyone a chill (especially dog lovers!). Kids’ entertainment specialist Cake is partnering with DCM Pictures and Boulder Media on 2D adventure comedy series Amelia Fang, aimed at 6-9 year olds.

Anderson has illustrated works for a number of authors, including Cerrie Burnell and Sibéal Pounder. In the mid-2010s she was chosen to illustrate the new covers for the relaunches of Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five series and of Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series. Anderson’s first fiction series as both author and illustrator was the Amelia Fang series. The series revolves around a young vampire named Amelia and her family and friends, which include a yeti, a pet pumpkin, and a young grim reaper. Books in the series included Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball (2017), Amelia Fang and the Memory Thief (2018), and Amelia Fang and the Lost Yeti Treasures (2019). The award-winning series has been translated into more than 20 languages. In the SIXTH instalment, Amelia Fang’s mum has a baby vampire on the way! But with the Fang household completely focussed on the new arrival, no one is paying Amelia any attention. But not long after arriving, the precious glittery treasures of the ancient yetis start to go missing. And when Tangine goes missing too he becomes the prime suspect! Not only that but the tunnels of Yeti Mountain have started to collapse on themselves and it looks like Florence and her family will have to move far away. It's looking like the gang might never see each other again! The series is inspired by the fang-tastic books written and illustrated by Laura Ellen Anderson, which have sold over half a million copies in the UK and have been translated into 24 languages.

In Amelia's second adventure, she and her friends Florence the yeti (DON'T CALL HER BEAST), Grimaldi the Death and Prince Tangine (reformed spoiled sprout), along with her pet pumpkin Squashy, must brave the journey to the terrifying Kingdom of the Light to try to find Tangine's missing mother, Queen Fairyweather. This year’s World Book Day is on 7 March and if you’re feeling stumped for costume ideas, look no further! We’ve put together a few suggestions inspired by some of our favourite Farshore characters.Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - When Amelia and her friends are invited to Florence's grandmother 350th birthday party, they are very excited! Grand-yeti Clemence lives in the Yeti Pits, a maze of candle-lit tunnels and caves carved into Yeti Mountain. The Amelia Fang books are written and illustrated by Laura Ellen Andersen, the illustrator of Witch Wars and creator of Evil Emperor Penguin. Laura describes Amelia as a modern-day Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family. The fun illustrations and lovable characters in Amelia Fang, make this series is perfect for readers 7+, especialy fans of The Worst Witch , Witch Wars or Isadora Moon . Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball was Waterstones Book of the Month in October 2017. Amelia Fang would rather hang out with her pet pumpkin Squashy and her friends Florence the yeti (DON’T CALL HER BEAST!) and Grimaldi the reaper than dance at her parents’ annual Barbaric Ball. When the King’s spoiled son Tangine captures Squashy, Amelia and her friends must escape the party to plan a daring rescue! But they begin to realise things in Nocturnia may not be quite what they seem.
