Description

Animal Crossing has actually been around for years before the newest addition to the switch. Today, you can play Animal Crossing on various Nintendo devices. Bottom Line Up Front The board is very different as well. Each “property” (property spaces are called islands in this game) color is actually only two spaces. For example, there are two orange “property” spaces in Animal Crossing Monopoly vs. the original Monopoly which has three orange spaces. This board also has lots of chance and “nook miles” spaces which we will explain shortly. After the first trip around the Monopoly gameboard, players can choose a Skill card with an ability they can use throughout the rest of the game You will receive the corresponding Nook Miles for any Nook Miles cards that you successfully completed. Here is a major difference if you were thinking you were getting into a traditional Monopoly game. In the Animal Crossing Version, when you land on a property space you put a token of your player/piece onto that space.

Each time you land on/pass the GO space, you will get to shop at Nook’s Cranny. Before looking at the shop, you will take the action corresponding to the space that you landed on. There are no banknotes. The one downfall is since there are so many pieces, it takes a while to set up the board. Understanding the Spaces Depending on your items, you can also build different things and either sell them or decorate the area. When you go “online,” you can chat with your friends through the Nintendo App while you play. Just like the original, the chance cards could be good or bad. Some allowed you to keep them for special moves; others made you pay or collect money. The best were the cards that you got to keep hidden and use at anytime! ProsSaving the best for last, I can’t talk highly enough about the game’s player figures. There are four of them (half the regular number), but I think they make up for it by being the nicest Monopoly pieces I’ve had the pleasure of owning. They are small coloured plastic pieces that have been painted/printed onto to resemble the player avatars from ACNH. Each captures the scene of a character participating in the same style of resource collecting as the players – buying into the game’s story. Nook, I Need More Storage Other cards will require you to pay Bells to either gain or avoid losing Nook Miles. These cards are turned face up when you acquire them. When you pay the bank the corresponding number of Bells, you will flip them over. The player that drew this card will have to pay five coins to the bank by the end of the game. If they don’t they will lose ten Nook Miles. Dodo Airlines

You can search for fossils on the island, catch bugs, and go fishing. Then, you can take your different finds to the museum to showcase the various items you find. Instead of buying properties and paying rent, players collect bugs, fish, fossils and fruit. They can also stop at Nook's Cranny and cash in Bells to buy decorations. Decorations are worth Nook Miles and the player with the most Nook Miles wins the game. Components: gameboard, 4 Character Tokens, 4 Skill Cards, 35 Decoration Cards, 14 Chance Cards, 14 Nook Miles Cards, 160 Resource Chips, 40 Five-Bell Coins, 54 Bell Coins, 40 Player Markers, 1 numbered die, 1 Nook’s Cranny die, instructions FUN BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR KIDS 8 AND UP: The Monopoly Animal Crossing New Horizons Edition board game is a great choice for game night with the family, and it's a fun thing for kids to do indoorsSKILL CARDS: After the first trip around the Monopoly gameboard, players can choose a Skill card with an ability they can use throughout the rest of the game The board’s design overall is colorful and vibrant, like the game! You place your large tokens on the board, but they fit perfectly into each space.

There are several differences between the two! However, I’m pleasantly surprised because the Monopoly themes are usually very similar to the original. Finally, I’d like to mention Skill cards. After a single loop of the board players gain a random special ability (out of four options) that can help them win the game. These really help boost the game’s replayability, since each time you play is slightly different based on which Skill you receive. A 2-D Island Paradise While it says it’s for those who are eight years old and up, it might be more challenging for those who are eight years old The next time a player lands on an island, the player who lands on the space will take a corresponding Resource Token. The player that discovered the island will also take one of the tokens. If there is only one Resource Token left for the space, the player that just landed on the island gets to take it. When there are no tokens left, neither player gets to take one. If the player that originally discovered the island lands on it again, they will get to take two Resource Tokens. The green player has landed on this island. The island has already been discovered by the purple player. The green player will get to take the top brown apple token. The purple player will then get to take the next brown apple token. GO There are also Monopoly tokens. These are Animal Crossing inspired pieces that you’ll move around the board with.

You can roll the number die. If you roll a six, you will get to leave Jail for free. You will then take a normal turn. If you don’t roll a six your turn ends. It’s different from the classic since you don’t buy properties. Instead, you can create a team of various Marvel heroes. Pros Another big difference in this game is you are going to be rolling two dice. One dice is your standard 1-6, which tells you how many spaces to move. The other dice has a bug, fish, fossil, fruit, or leaf on it. When you roll this dice, you can sell your resource tiles to the bank based on what your roll. While you could buy the Monopoly Cats or the Monopoly Dogs, why not buy this instead? I love how the entire game is based on a challenge between the two to make it exciting! Original article [Tue 6th Jul, 2021 04:15 BST]: It seems like there's a monopoly game for just about every franchise nowadays, but one theme we haven't seen yet is Animal Crossing. Or so we thought...
