Tubular (or semi-tubular) rivets resemble a solid rivet with a hole drilled partway through the tail end of the shaft. They are installed in the same way as solid rivets–with access to both sides of the fastener being required–but only require about a quarter of the force to set the rivet. Because the tubular rivets only deform at the hollow end, rather than throughout the length of the shaft, they can be used for pivot joints. The rivet installation tool has a robust design that offers secure riveting. The gun features a used rivet mandrel container. The guns jaw mechanism grips the rivet mandrel firmly after breaking, which can then be released once more by pressing the lever forwards. The long stroke is handy for highly blind rivets. Also available are Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) installation tools, available in Green. This tool is suitable for Drive Rivets and offers faster assembly and more accuracy of rivet placement. ABS benefits from good heat, impact, chemical, impact and abrasion resistance. It also has great stability, tensile strength, surface hardness, rigidity and electrical properties, and even copes well at low temperatures. The large plunger head and easy-grip handle help reduce operator fatigue. Install by; load rivet into the tool and insert into the application hole. Pressure on the plunger frees the pin and expands the rivet in the assembly. Although rivets definitely have seniority in the wide world of fasteners, our hardware selection, which includes nuts, studs and standoffs offers a wider range of potential applications. Blind Rivets also known as drive rivets have a mandrel through their centre that once inserted into pre-drilled holes of the parts they are joining, the blind end expands and the mandrel snaps off. They can be installed from only one side making them ideal for areas where access is limited. A rivet is a mechanical fastener used for joining two panels, or multiple objects together. It is made up of a smooth cylindrical shaft with a head at one end. To install the rivet, the end without the head is inserted through a hole in both of the objects to be joined and the head is then hammered or pressed onto the exposed end. This expands the shaft, creating a tight and secure joint.
