The fit is still north of snug (read: it can feel like a vice grip at first), but does open up over time. Now the sound is so detailed I don't really feel like I'm listening on headphones. The only thing that reminds me I'm not hearing full-sized speakers is the soundstage that isn't, of course, as large and deep as real full-sized speakers would provide. But the sound is really amazing.

Note: The measurements you are about to see are made using a standardized Gras 45C. Headphone measurements by definition are approximate and variable so don't be surprised if other measurements even if performed with the same fixtures as mine, differ in end results. Protocols vary such as headband pressure and averaging (which I don't do). As you will see, I confirm the approximate accuracy of the measurements using Equalization and listening tests. Ultimately headphone measurements are less exact than speakers mostly in bass and above a few kilohertz so keep that in mind as you read these tests. If you think you have an exact idea of a headphone performance, you are likely wrong! It seems babies are all the rage these days and everyone’s having ’em, but they don’t mix well with audio. xD Amplification: Following build is power requirements and amplification. These are mostly easy to drive, but they aren’t the easiest headphones in the world to drive. For certain forms of media, they won’t get loud enough. Music will be perfectly fine on a phone, but YouTube and other media with inconsistent volume normalization won’t always be loud enough. You can run these off of most sources just fine, but certain game console controllers might not get loud enough with these. An amp gives these more then enough power though, even something without a ton of power like a fiio e10k. You could definitely damage your ears with almost any desktop amp on these. The combination of issues in the midrange and treble from the HD58X ruins the most revered aspects of the HD6X0: The tonality and instrument timbre. The 58X is definitely the most “fun” or “colored” sounding out of the 3, while the 650 is assuredly the warmest and most “syrupy”. Very easy, this is just an amazing recommendation for anyone wanting to get their first pair of audiophile headphones for under 200 dollars. There a few minors flaws but considering the price, it's okay

For dance and electronic: They again can be bright at times; I guess that's a them. Others haven't mentioned it, so maybe I'm just not used to hearing this level of detail in the treble. It never hurts, but can get fatiguing to me. Bass is always adequate, as these tend to be modern recordings. Ace of Base's music is mixed perfectly. I'm listening to them now in High Quality through Apple Music and using the Dance EQ setting. It's perfect. One song that stood out to me was Madonna's Music. This sounds good flat on these headphones, but through my home speakers (Polk S55 powered from a 75 W/ch integrated amp) I have to turn the bass EQ all the way down for it to sound just OK.With the 58X, you’ll notice everything just seems a bit louder, with a little more oomph and sparkle. Once there, the sound was delightful with surprisingly good amount of spatial qualities (I give it B+). I listened for the rest of the evening after I tested and did not want to put it down. The Soundstage is super wide, and you’ll hear pretty much any and every sound you could possibly imagine in-game.

Also, due to this tight fit, the headphones won’t come of your heads like the HD 598SE does! So, you won’t have any type of fit issues like you had with the HD 598SE (where if you even sneezed, the headphones would’ve come flying off of your head!). If you plan on purchasing these headphones or any other high-end headphones for that matter, I suggest you get a good DAC/AMP to go with it. It will go a long way to make your listening experience much more enjoyable.

BAM!

It’s comparable to something like a Sundara or 400 series headphone – above average in terms of Soundstage, but not exemplary. In fact,
