Description

The purpose of kickboards is to enclose the areas underneath the cabinet - both for sanitary and aesthetic reasons. You can often assemble the fence panels on the ground, then lift the entire panel up and slot it onto the posts.

With our wide choice of kitchen plinths and kitchen decorative plinths for the METOD cabinet legs, finding one that matches your cabinets will be a breeze. Remember to keep in mind that a lot of time and effort can go into measuring, cutting and placing kickboards yourself.

There are also gravel board cleats you could use, but they have to be bolted to the boards as well as to the fence posts. Pack soil into any areas where the boards are too low, and remove soil from areas where they are too high.

You don't have to join the internal and external corners together though and could just leave them loose. A toe kick or kickboard (in the kitchen cabinetry sense) is a fascia that fits across the recess at the bottom of a floor-mounted base cabinet; these serve to conceal the plinths / supports of cabinet leg systems. Kickboards give a finished look at the base of your kitchen cabinets, and it's not unusual for people to use a different material or trim to differentiate their kickboards from the rest of their cabinetry (stainless steel, for example).

Also I read to use aquaseal - this is supposed to stop water getting under, and also helps stop water getting inside the chip board. Begin installing your kickboards, by marking out on the kickboards where you need to make the cuts (remember those measurements you were keeping handy earlier! Likewise, you'll have to think carefully about what sort of floor you plan on using in your kitchen.
