About this deal

Intense rotating of the analog stick reportedly resulted in friction injuries to the hands of some players of 1998's Mario Party. Players would often take apart Nintendo 64 controllers to mix-and-match the tops and bottoms of the shell, creating bi-color controllers. However, if you run other cores, such as Beetle PSX HW (see our PS1 Retroarch emulation guide for more info), then you're likely running them using Vulkan drivers. For charging, it utilizes a USB-C input which is a fantastic addition as it’ll not only charge faster due to it being a new technology, it’s also much more robust than micro USB connections.

As a result of a settlement with the New York Attorney General, Nintendo offered protective gloves to prevent injuries. The Nintendo 64 controller was one of the first game controllers to incorporate analog stick technology as a main feature, intended to provide the user with a wider range of functions such as mobility and camera control. However, the strange location of the screenshot, home, and - buttons make them a bit harder to access in a hurry.

I'm not entirely sure how long the battery lasts for, but it did go for at least six hours during one of my play sessions, so it should last long enough for the average user. The new version makes a series of changes to the design including the addition of wireless functionality and the incorporation of a rumble feature without the need for an additional accessory like the Rumble Pak.At least a Raspberry Pi 2 is required for viable Nintendo 64 performance, but performance is variable across all Pi hardware. While it is incredibly difficult to get your hands on these N64 controllers right now, I did find that this retro gamepad makes it a whole lot easier to play more intensive N64 games like OoT and the upcoming Majora's Mask.
