About this deal

The setting was perfect, the food was outstanding, and the staff were pleasant and extremely attentive. Never again will i go out on Christmas day and i hope whoever takes over the pub does a much better job than they did in the future. Anarkali Indian restaurant Haslingden is a hidden gem, and is one of Lancashire’s premier Indian restaurants which is loved by Indian food lovers from far and wide. It tasted very fresh and he chips were proper home made - thick cut and crispy and served with side salad and tartar sauce. This kind of pruning is a good idea though for helping the fruit to bask in those valuable sugar-yielding solar rays.

Founded by Henry A Wadworth, the business passed to his founding partner John Smith Bartholomew and is now in the fourth-generation of ownership by the Bartholomew family. I've just come back from Afghanistan to look forward to a nice cold pint at the farmers, only to find its changed hands and the new policy by the landlady is that people are not allowed to go in their just for a beer and even though we had already been served we were asked if we wanted to carry on having a drink we must vacant the premises and drink outside. The photo below shows these really sweet ‘black’ gooseberries, another successful lifestyle orcharding experiment at my friend Rob Warman’s place. Used to be extensively grown in Cumberland and elsewhere – often to be found in old cottage and farmhouse gardens. Wadworth has created original beers at its brewery in Devizes, Wiltshire since 1875 and is one of the few remaining family brewers to deliver to the local area using shire horses. An oldCumberland variety, planting material was supplied to the National Collection from an old tree in Thursby, near Carlisle. Their bushes are above waist height, planted into the ground, and mulched with sphagnum moss for weed suppression and moisture retention. You can bonsai them in individual pots – large if possible to retain water and well mulched for summer – so they are mobile and you gain better positions in the sun for ripening fruit. abv is brewed with Pale Ale and Crystal malts and has a hint of citrus to create a refreshing perfectly balanced harvest bitter for real ale fans. It was a really lovely atmosphere too, they had a number of settings so tables weren't piled in next to each other, it was really well planned.

Tesco head of sustainable agriculture, Natalie Smith, told attendees: “We’re facing both a climate and a biodiversity crisis and we’re seeing the impact of that in the UK on an annual basis. Well known and deservedly popular early apple, which in our experience is very reliable and recommended for Cumbria and similar climates. Delegates also enjoyed sessions by Richard Maryniak and Wojtek Behnke, of the Aqualate Estate, near Newport, which includes a Site of Special Scientific Interest. In recent years we have had excellent crops of high quality apples, but the trees took a long time to come fully into production. The interior was very clean and styled beautifully, with crisp white linen cloths and napkins , and very comfy chairs . At one time was imported into the UK in huge numbers from Canada and North America, recently fallen from favour to some extent. We offer a wide variety of dishes on our menu and cater for all, from small to large parties, to weddings and any special occasion.

We are open 7-days a week over the Christmas holiday period (Week Commencing 12th December for 4 weeks). Birds can be a problem so hang up old CDs and build elaborate scarecrows with battery timers and big hats. Rob’s ones are mulched with large woodchips, mainly to keep the weeds down and beat grass competition. Wadworth the independent family brewer based in Devizes, Wiltshire has given its popular seasonal ale, Farmer’s Glory a whole new look.

From the moment we entered we were warmly welcomed every though we were late they showed us to seats at and bar and we’re not rushed at all. My in laws visited the restaurant prior and had a meal to try it out and enjoyed it so we booked the Farmers Glory for the big day. First created in 1984 to help farmers to celebrate their bounteous harvests, the beer has been growing in popularity ever since.
