About this deal

The GraviTrax system uses plastic curves connected by thin rails which are raised by towers created from stacks of other pieces. And, if you ever get stuck on a particular maze the back of the cards provide the solution, which is helpful for the really challenging levels or for individuals that get easily frustrated. There are also challenge tracks which show finished tracks without instructions of how to get there. The colourful gravity maze is a great way to get children working together and using their logical thinking skills to guide the marble out of the maze. Develops visual processing, visual discrimination and visual processing skills (vital skills to learn to read).

If logic, construction, and building are your thing, Gravity Maze is an excellent solo-able puzzle that will keep you engaged for hours!Like all of ThinkFun's games, Gravity Maze has an educational aspect - it's built to develop critical thinking skills and tie into STEM subjects like science and engineering.

My 5 year old grandson is able to play with it and enjoy it without help–once he has some assistance in setting it up. GraviTrax Starter Set Contents (NB, around half the height tiles are missing from this image), Image: Sophie Brown Q-Ba-Maze 2. The idea is to aim them into another piece such as the vortex, but this isn’t always easy or possible to achieve. Pick a challenge card of varying difficulty - Beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert - And then place the target tower and any other towers onto the grid as indicated.Everybody found themselves getting annoyed with it very quickly, the marbles would end up going everywhere, and any time it was out I would inevitably hear the sound of plastic crashing to the ground followed by the moans of an irritated child. Setting up the game or cleaning it up after playing, is easy and quick; everything fits nicely in the box. But we did miss a couple the first time we tried it so our success induced smugness was short lived!

This could usually be solved by adjusting one or both towers, but it was frustrating when it happened. Ideally, the system needs wider bases to give it more structural support, or maybe even a clamp as with Hot Wheels tracks so it can be attached to an existing structure like a table. The components are top notch, with the tower parts being entirely made of plastic; the same goes for the game board itself. I hope extra expansions are available in the future because I know we will be playing with it for years to come. After an adult explained the rules, the children quickly understood what to do and it was lovely to see them communicating to work out where to place the blocks on the grid. Unlike most puzzles, Gravity Maze features a unique 3D spatial design where the goal is to build a path for a marble to travel from the entry point to the end Target Tower. The replayability in Gravity Maze will depend in part on how good you are at mapping and remembering sequences.

Even more fun for my big and little man seems to be the opportunity to freestyle the design and use the pieces to make unique marble rolling structures. And although you’re effectively doing the same thing each time, the variability in terms of building a different construction sequence each time keeps it feeling fresh.Sure, the fun factor will keep your child engaged for hours, but at the same time they will be improving their problem solving skills and increasing their spatial reasoning. Having engaging solo puzzles that our son enjoys is excellent for him and for me as a gaming parent. Should you complete all the challenges, or you want to freestyle, you can also let your imagination run wild and build your own designs. With four levels of difficulty throughout sixty exciting challenges, your brain will be twisting and teasing in more ways than you can imagine. to be a far noisier toy that GraviTrax, to the point where after 10 minutes I would be asking my son to please stop playing with it because the constant clattering was giving me a headache.
