HyperX claims up to 33 hours of battery life for the Cloud MIX Buds; this is slightly misleading in the way all companies are slightly misleading about the battery life of true wireless earbuds, because it includes the charging case. The ear tips will be able to reduce the surrounding noise to a mumble while in public and keep audio inside.

I used it mostly for PUBG Mobile sessions on the Samsung Galaxy S10 and OnePlus 6T (using a Type-C converter) and the audio is impressively good for such games. Each earbud has a small touch sensor on the stem (above the HyperX logo), which can be configured using HyperX’s NGENUITY app/software. My ears aren’t particularly small — they’re solidly medium-sized — and these earbuds were just a little too large to feel comfortable right away.

The included ear tips are grey in color and have been designed in an angular shape to provide maximum comfort. I actually thought these earbuds were a little too warm overall, but at least the bass didn’t end up too muddy or distorted. It's not the best sounding headphone in the range for music, and it loses some of its relevance for phones that ditched 3.

The microphone’s frequency response is around 100 to 6300 Hz and will provide clear sounding audio to your friends. I’m not kidding — there are a lot of situations where cutting that last wire has had a surprisingly significant effect.

But it’s not to say that this is all too disappointing since the lack of bass helps make certain sounds, such as explosions, seem more realistic. And even though you can’t expect too much in terms of sound isolation or microphone quality, you should still be able to have a decent gaming experience. The earbuds themselves are stemmed, and have a curvy, angled shape that fits snugly in your ear canal and offers decent passive noise cancellation.
