Kerri Maniscalco rendered such a unique world brimming with dark magic and wickedness and I believe there is an opportunity to explore more of it if she ever considers to do spin-off books. But just before they can make their relationship official (in the biblical sense at least), Emilia is whisked off to another realm in one of the most staggering acts of cock-blocking on record.

The “villain” reveal from the end of book 2 was completely underused and I really hated how that all played out. I just had to say that, because people do create false ways of judgements in their heads even if they believe they're doing the right things. The steamy conclusion to the ‘Kingdom of the Wicked’ fantasy romance trilogy, which hails from the same author of the Stalking the Jack the Ripper series, drops us directly into the action following a brief (and ominous AF) prologue. In addition, naturally, Emilia and Wrath are the same sexy badasses that they were in the last two books. for THRONE OF THE FALLEN and Waterstones just revealed the sprayed edge design for their limited/exclusive edition! Something I've got to give Maniscalco's credit for is that Emilia and Wrath, as the main couple, don't ever spend a lot of time apart and, while they (and me, vicariously through them) have never experienced the emotional moment of reuniting after a long period, they work great together, solving mysteries and threading plots between a fuck and a blowjob, like the two warm-blooded royal bitches they are.

So this one, had a lot of building on Hell, and fallen angels- aka demons, summoning demons, witchcraft and the whole concept of selling one's soul. I think the underworld Maniscalco's created is interesting and while hell looks more like the set of Bridgerton than the fire and torture version we're all used to, it was a nice take and an effort I didn't dislike. B. habe ich mir doch mehr Facetten versprochen, gezeigt zu bekommen, was sie zu den Wicked macht und voneinander unterscheidet. When readers fell in love with the first book in Kerri Maniscalco’s darkly romantic and deliciously sinful fantasy series, Kingdom of the Wicked, they couldn’t have possibly anticipated all that was to come. They’re such sparky characters, so vibrant and full of life, that you can’t help but smile whenever they’re working together.

Kingdom of the Feared marks the conclusion of the trilogy and it's always bittersweet to bid these characters farewell. The first chapter—as well as the book summary— contain spoilers for the first two books, please do not read either if you need to catch up on the series.Da der Fokus nun auf dem Spice liegt, kamen die Handlung und die Fantasy-Aspekte (epischer Schluss-Kampf zum Beispiel) vollkommen zu kurz.

Emilia and Wrath gave the vibe of those couples who have to let EVERYONE around them know they fuck.Sorry for being a sap and for having a soft spot for dark and broody immortal boys and their badass wives, I guess. All of those happened in like ten pages or less so Emilia losing her powers didn't do anything for the plot or for the reader at all. Things end up resolving in a way that somewhat negates a bit of that horrific loss, with Emilia gaining back power through Wrath’s benevolence. Die Richtung, die mit diesem Band eingeschlagen wurde, entspricht nicht meinem persönlichen Geschmack.
