About this deal

I might not always have the wood press but an iron or microwave would be a great alternative away from home. Next, drill 4 corner holes through the second piece of wood, making sure the holes are lined up correctly. I chose to notch my cardboard, as I plan to add several layers to my press, like a double decker sandwich. This is a great kit for creative and craft-loving adults, teens, and kids alike, and as you'd expect from the brand, everything is made from really good quality materials. For a fun kids’ craft, use wax paper to create a “suncatcher” with the flowers preserved in between.

Larger in size than most, it’s designed to accommodate larger blooms and leaves while also remaining light enough to take with you when exploring the great outdoors. As well as extending the life of your favourite flowers, you can use them to decorate stationery or for craft projects. Even if you only make 1 layer at first, you can still go back and add another layer any time after you make your press. Made from plastic with felt and cotton pads, it’s very similar to the other microwaveable press on our list.Yesterday we met up for a cream tea, we not only came away with a doggy bag but also the flowers on the table. If roses have already started to wilt or deteriorate, they do not usually keep their color well after pressing. Now that you've learned how to press flowers into a book, let's take a look at some of the different methods of pressing flowers. Pressing flowers is a popular art form that can be traced back to ancient Egypt – blooms flattened in this way were found in the coffin of the mother of Tutankhamun! This press is somewhat of a special edition, and while the most expensive item on the list, it is one to own if you’re a seasoned crafter seeking memorable collector-like pieces to add to your craft station.

In the old days, people would use books to flatten flowers, placing them in between pages and leaving them to dry out for days or even several weeks. Even the press itself is beautifully decorated – perfect for displaying on a shelf or gifting to a lucky friend. They are often attractively painted or styled to be almost a decoration in themselves, and make a great gift.

Includes paint, cards, bookmarks and more to create eye-catching art with your pressed flowers and leaves. The kit contains 50 sheets of blotting paper and 10 plexiglass display frames — a great way to give someone a meaningful gift or set-up a nature-themed gallery in your home. Instead of waiting weeks, this instant press makes beautifully pressed blooms in minutes thanks to its ingenious use of the microwave to dry petals.
