Hardly a year has gone by since 1975 where there wasn’t a new shark attack horror movie to consume, and this year is no exception. Indie shark movie The Black Demon has become the top streaming film on Prime Video, surpassing major releases, thanks to its low-budget appeal.

The coastal town he and his wife once knew had mysteriously crumbled with locals nowhere to be found. But pobody's nerfect, and Flicks Ltd nor any advertiser accepts liability for information that may be inaccurate. The only simple synopsis available is: Three firefighters must save New Orleans from a shark attack. More could have been done with the visions idea, as other than a couple of jump scares and other minor moments, it never becomes all that relevant. The premise — one that has been used before countless times — could have worked if the story offered more than just a quirky meet cute that becomes incredibly predictable.

The film is based around the legend of El Demonio Negro (‘The Black Demon’), an enormous, ruthless midnight black shark that hunts off the coast of the Mexican Baja peninsula.Indeed, though Lucas has had a long career prior to the Taylor Sheridan flagship show, he is mostly known today as the actor who plays young John Dutton. And everyone saying that the acting is bad must have some real personal animous towards the actors because the cast did their job.

It’s a shame that the cornerstone of Audrey’s personality is that she likes to paint her fingernails, but Solórzano gets to deliver quite a range as Tommy, who gets a little morbid later in the film. Josh Lucas (Ford v Ferrari, Yellowstone) stars in this edge-of-your-seat action thriller from the director of Rambo: Last Blood. The Black Demon jumps on the Megalodon hype train and depicts the story of a family encountering one of the gigantic dangerous sharks while visiting an oil rig in Baja California, a state in Mexico. Back in 2018, Steve Alten’s The Meg finally came to the big screen, but not in the form that we had originally been promised. Yellowstone's Josh Lucas leads the cast of The Black Demon alongside Fernanda Urrejola, Julio Cesar Cedillo, Venus Ariel, and Héctor Jiménez. The trailer launched on Variety along with a poster and info about a roadshow tour Wiseau is going on, playing the film in different cinemas around the country throughout 2023. Word of the town is that the drilling has awakened something, a legend, a myth, a megalodon: The Black Demon!
