Funny, tragic (and very British), Matt Haig has written a delightful and poignant novel, told in the voice of an 11 year old boy who is trying to process the death of his father as he also endeavors to grow up. I grew up in Newark-on-Trent, and went to a school like Philip’s, so it was relatively easy to conjure that world. The first time they were just words and the second time was after Dads Ghost had said them and they went one sound at a time some one who knows a lot a bout cars The last word sounded louder like it had capital letters like CARS.

They dont meet inside because ghosts flicker out more easily inside than outside and it makes no difference when you are a ghost because you dont feel the cold and your legs dont get tired from standing up.
