About this deal

I understood immediately their happy, freeing hope of girl time over vacation and knew quickly that a hike would only lead to bad.

As the group enters the exact zone where the missing woman disappeared, they get the feeling that someone is watching them. Some of these miles have been done as day hikes, others as multi-day hikes, wild camping along the way. As an author, she never gets to completely switch off as everything she does and everything that happens around her can be an inspiration for her next work.Lucy's seventh novel, ONE OF THE GIRLS, is 'an electric, sun-soaked thriller', released in May 2022.

You know that feeling when you read a good book, and you’re totally transported to the world within those pages? Liz feels stuck in her life and has arranged a girls getaway to Norway for her and her three childhood best friends; Joni, Maggie, and Helena. An unforgettable trip to the Norwegian fjords becomes a killer hike in this atmospheric, far-flung thriller. Even though the pace is slow to begin with, I was quickly pulled into this story, and it wasn't long before the pace picked up. She is the author of seven other destination thrillers, which have sold more than a million copies around the world, including One of the Girls, The Castaways, and The Blue, which has been filmed as a major international TV series (titled No Escape) for Paramount+.

The crew of the pleasure boat is composed of young travelers with wanderlust and it is not long before the two girls’ dream of romance comes true. It slows us down and immerses us deeply in nature’: the author Lucy, with her husband James and their children, Tommy and Darcy. Some days are full of wonder-struck moments, like stumbling across a cosy, low-ceilinged pub just when we’re ravenous, or rock-jumping into the sea in our underpants.

It's a fun ride, I love hiking in the great outdoors, especially in more isolated areas on multi day hikes so for me this book was a show in. If you’re looking for an entertaining popcorn thriller, albeit maybe not memorable or a chart topper, look no further! This heightens and deepens the group dynamics which are in constant flux with moments of joy and liberation which contrasts effectively with the building fearful dread and suspense. This psychological thriller will keep you glued to the pages and take you away to the Norwegian mountains where you'll feel you are hiking along with the four main characters of this book, Liz, Maggie, Helena and Joni who are lifelong friends going off on their annual holiday. However, if you are respectful, pitch your tent late, pack it away early, and leave no trace – then it’ll usually be fine. In fact, it would make one heck of a thrilling movie or TV series, so I’ll be crossing my fingers on that score. As a doctor, Liz knows that walking does wonders for the body and mind, and she feels the need to clear her head in the midst of a crumbling marriage. The women aren't prepared to find themselves discovering something very bad that places them in great danger if found out while at the same time two of the women have been harboring painful secrets which will affect the group but only one will reveal a secret so ugly and shameful that it could cause a breakdown in the friendships or it could possibly cost one woman her life!
