My current painting practice leans heavily on motifs found in other art works, which is something that emerged from these drawn reiterations. It has been a fun ride and I discovered that there is so much to explore and take part in…having the recordings and being able to start with the first one in a class and work my way through at my pace has been great. Being in lockdown has made it quite difficult for me to maintain a good level of motivation for a longer period of time, especially when it comes to when I am trying to think of a good idea for a big piece or poster. I did get through the section quickly, and the last video was like a cliff hanger- I wanted to jump in to more.It is a very welcoming community and there is so much inspiration being passed around and encouragement! It is amazing that each page has easy instructions on how to draw different 'things' persons, insect animal, fish, seascape,s. But that is her usual reaction so don't let that put you off: as an artist I think it could be very inspiring for young people and fun for any adult, much more creative than 'mindful colouring books' that have been so much in vogue these past years. I really love this book and hoped it would engage my daughter; she likes it but isn't over excited about it.
