The 60% layout was considered a niche outside layout until this keyboard hit the market. So, what about this keyboard is special? PBT Doubleshot Keycaps This is a killer first mechanical keyboard. I love it, but there is 2 major flaws. I don't want to give it a 3 star because it may just be my board, but even then I am still satisfied. With a little preparation and some simple steps, you can enjoy better control and performance like the pros.

It’s a fantastic little keyboard. The 65% form-factor is a great tradeoff between 60% and TKL. It’s about as small as most people can go without any difficulties of adjusting to life without arrow-keys. Once you have your replacement mouse skates in hand, it's now time to remove your old ones from the base of the mouse. There are a few different methods to do this, but we’ll cover the main, most reliable method (in our opinion): When you're looking to switch out your skates, you’ll need to choose replacements that fit your specific model of mouse due to each mouse having a different layout on its base where the skates are installed. The exception being brands who use the same mouse chassis for multiple models, but that will be mentioned on the skates product description. While many would consider this a bad thing, hot-swappable keyboards typically don’t last as long as soldered keyboards.

If you want to roll your sleeves up a bit, you can consider lubing the stabilizers to reduce the friction and rattle.

Stylized spacebar: A spacebar coming in the current zodiac year. We got the year of the rabbit design. I really want to love this keyboard but I just don't. Gave it a week or two of use before I swapped it out for another board. If you’re a fan of RGB lighting, you can cycle through the different preset options and even customize your own options. Coming loaded down with awesome features such as RGB lighting, extremely powerful firmware, customizable PBT keycaps, and a beautiful case design – I was hooked. The debounce time refers to how long the keyboard waits before sending another signal. Mechanical keyboards typically have a debounce time of 10ms, but your able to drop it down to 5ms if you choose to do so.

If you’re a coder that uses ` a lot (for markdown, etc.), it’ll take a little getting used to hitting the Fn-key every time. Shift+Esc defaults to ~, so it shouldn’t be an issue for POSIX users that will frequently try to “cd ~”. The keycaps also have sub-legends written on the front that correspond to each of the functions available on the lower layer. This is very helpful for when you want to access these commands.

Be careful when using the hairdryer too, as you want to avoid overheating the mouse, which can cause damage to your mouse (plastic melting or warping) and also cause injury to yourself, so proceed with caution. Also the brown switches have been a game changer. Comparing Razer's blue to these Cherry MX Browns: they aren't loud at all, but just as rewarding. There is a solid thud with each stroke and just enough actuation that I still know how hard to strike to maintain a really fast cadence and with the quieter sound I can use it all hours of the day even when my kid is sleeping in the room next to me. I've used cheapo membrane keyboards most of my adult life, most recently wore out an Dell L100 membrane board, and decided it was time for a change. I use my keyboard on both my laptop for work (primarily) and gaming on my desktop (occasionally), so I wanted something compact but customizable, comfortable, quiet, and versatile. Finally, once the grip tape is properly applied, use a sharp hobby knife or scissors to trim any excess grip tape from around the edges of your mouse. Trimming the edges gives your mouse a clean and finished look. The macro programmablity lets you customize certain shortcuts and key combinations to whatever key you want. Simply follow the steps in the user manual to change up the options. The macro programming is a very powerful aspect of this keyboard and offers a lot in terms of a better user experience. Being able to easily swap out the switches with no soldering required is great for those who want to test different switch options and find the perfect feel. Cherry MX switches are known for their long lifespan and the tons of rigorous testing they go through.

While being a little overwhelming at first, the keyboard offers a ton of functionality through the firmware. No software required. Overall, for the price I highly recommend this keyboard, and recommend the Silent Reds if you are looking for a quieter typing experience. Extra colored keycaps: Additional accent keycaps in blue. Allows you to customize the colors of your keyboard. Before applying the grip tape, it is essential to clean your mouse to remove any dirt or oils that may interfere with the grip tape's adhesion. Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the surface of your mouse, taking care not to damage the coating. Make sure to remove all the dirt and oil residues, especially around the edges of your mouse. Coming in a high-quality PBT double-shot plastic design, these are longer-lasting than the usual keycaps that you’ll find on your old crusty Dell keyboard.

Cooperate with a public agency or academic research institution, based on public interest, for statistical or academic research, and the data is processed or collected by the provider to identify specific parties in a manner that is not disclosed. The extra keycaps made my mind jump with the possibility of a customized design. Being able to configure the keyboard to your own preferences is awesome. Other than that, there is nothing super special about the stabilizers on the keyboard, but they are better than most gaming keyboards out there.
