The next step was to start adding some C02 to really help the plants grow – you can read about adding pressurised C02 here. Adding the fish and shrimp In the box you get the tank, lights, remote control, filter pump and media, flow controller and a none slip mat to place the aquarium on. The Fluval Flex comes with a Flex pad remote control which conveniently controls a wide range of lighting colours as well as fun special effects including faded cloud cover and lightning bolts. The fully adjustable white and RGB LEDs provide endless colour blends and up to 7500K to support plant growth and enhance fish colouration. If you don’t clean this you’ll notice the water in the pump section get lower and lower as the pump struggles to work.

Flex features a separate rear compartment camouflaged by a honeycomb print to house its multi-stage filtration for optimal water clarity. Tell the store assistant what tank you have, how long it has been set up, your water test results, what fish you want, and the fish you currently have. If Ammonia and/or nitrite are present, no fish should be added to the tank that week. Colourful fish This also allows special effects to be selected, such as the cloud cover lighting mode or storm weather with lightning. In addition, thanks to the RGB LEDs, all colours of the spectrum can be selected. Cleaning is a simple process, you just need to remember the small sponge in the filter pump or the filterwill give up- as I found! (I’ll upload a how to clean video next time I do it) Holiday guide Flex comes compact with several great features including its easy feed large cut out opening for simple feeding. Its multi-directional dual output nozzles mean the tank water flow can be adjusted to depending on your tank setup.

I get asked a lot about fish going into the end filter compartment through the holes. In my tank I have left it uncovered as the fish and shrimp go in and out as they please. The Fluval Flex not only offers contemporary styling with its distinctive curved front, but is also equipped with powerful multi-stage filtration and brilliant LED lighting that allows the user to customize several settings via remote control. Take the filter apart as shown below and clean the filter sponge to get it working correctly again. It will be left like this for a few days before the filter is turned on, then the fish and shrimp added later.

To start with you need to take the filer media out of the plastic bags and slot them in the holes they came from – still in the mesh bags, rinse them under some clean cold water, then return this to the middle column. As with all aquariums from all manufacturers, we highly recommend installing your glass aquarium on a purpose-built aquarium stand or cabinet the same size or larger than the footprint of the aquarium, if you do not install on a purpose-built aquarium stand or cabinet, this will void your warranty (same with all glass tank manufacturers)

If you’re setting the tank up as a tropical aquarium then you’ll need a heater to add to the tank – there’s loads of these available and our recommended nano heater is the Fluval 50 w heater. The small aquarium is fully equipped with basic technical equipment and is suitable for any aquarium enthusiast looking for an unusual tank for their living space. As this tank was setup as an over flow of my breeding shrimp and guppies I started with 2 red shrimp and 3 juvenile guppies (small but with a bit of colour starting on the tail). With the curved front, the aquarist gets a special view into his beautifully designed underwater world. Stylish, curved front.... a distinct contemporary aesthetic.... stunning illumination - just a few advantages of the breathtaking Fluval Flex range! This line of aquariums, feature in-built multi-stage filtration and an innovative FLEXPad remote control for limitless personalization features.

The tank will need general maintenance to keep it clean such as cleaning the filter sponges. These can be easily removed and cleaned under water.

The Fluval Flex comes with a Flex pad remote control which conveniently controls a wide range of colours as well as fun special effects including faded cloud cover and lightning bolts, allowing you to customise your aquatic universe according to your mood. It’s really easy to setup and maintain, which is key when choosing a small tank, but still gives you enough room to be creative with the scene inside.

Now you need to rinse out the tank with clean water and wipe with a clean damp cloth – DO NOT USE SOAP!The Flex features a separate rear compartment camouflaged by a honeycomb print to house its multi-stage filtration for optimal water clarity. These 3-stage system contains oversized mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. Filter media is all included. After running the Flex like this for 3 days I then turned the filter and heater on and ran it empty for week to make sure the temperature was right and held. This also gave the tank some time to settle before adding any fish or shrimp. If this is something you’re worried about then you can add some thin gause over the cover to stop it happening. The finished nano tank The tank is nice and easy to setup as you’ll see below and the design of it with the curved front makes it easy to get a good look. The Flex Nano Aquarium series provides contemporary styling with its distinctive curved front. The tank is equipped with a powerful 3-stage filtration and an infrared remote control that allows you to select between several colours and special effects. The Flex aquarium is the perfect option for any fish keeper with its unique design and fantastic features.
