We compare our Alexa and Google Assistant speaker scores to see which voice assistant is currently built in to the best products. Slotting in a BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) tweeter driver and a woofer into its compact form, the A10 delivers a thoroughly engaging performance.

Sized and shaped like an ashtray, the Link 1’s duties are to collect song selections from the app, connecting to your home network via either wi-fi or its ethernet input, and dispense via whichever output you have selected. Aesthetically, the G10 is in keeping with its A10 forebear. Available in light and dark grey finishes, the colourways are ever so slightly different (lighter and darker, in both instances). The fabric that wraps around the speaker once again has a slightly coarse feel to it, but it’s subtly different in terms of how it’s knitted together. That appears to be the theme with the G10 – similar, but also subtly different. This is yet another legit comparison to make to find out if the price difference between them should make you go with Audio Pro C3 or not.Unsurprisingly, that’s one of the first things that jumps out when we switch the A10 on. We love the directness of its siblings, but the versatility and sheer spread of sound here is to be admired. It doesn’t have quite the unwavering focus, nor the sheer weight in the low end, but we can move around our test room and still be treated to the same high quality sound. Below we've analysed the scores of all Alexa and Google Assistant speakers we've tested to find out whether Alexa or Google Assistant speakers are the best to go for. We've found that while the best Alexa and Google Assistant speakers have similar scores, the average quality of Google Assistant speakers in our tests are considerably higher. It is the use of a BMR, or Balanced Mode Radiator, tweeter that is most canny, however. Among its many benefits, this flatter-faced driver has the ability to offer wider dispersion than a traditional tweeter – up to 180º in fact – and so can make the most of the A10’s cylindrical form, making it far less fussy when it comes to positioning. The Audio Pro G10 shares the same driver set-up as the A10 with its 1.25-inch BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) and 3-inch woofer. My presumption was it would sound fairly similar, but Audio Pro has tuned the G10 to wring out a better performance, particularly with vocals.

What to say about the G10 that I didn’t already remark upon with the A10? They are virtually identical. Change the source on the speaker to either Line in or AUX depending on where you plugged in the device. While the G10 doesn’t work with Audio Pro’s own multi-room speaker system, then, it’s now incorporated into the Google Home network, which adds built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast support. The EQ customisation within the Google Home app is rather limited though, with a slider for bass and treble the only options. As the Addon C10 is to the Addon C3, similarly the Drumfire’s better-honed talents run further than the added power and bottom end over its family members – it is again a step up in terms of performance across the board. Using an iPad Pro to send music to both speakers over a Bluetooth connection, the G10 delivers a punchier performance that leaves the A10 sounding lightweight by comparison. The G10 sounds bigger and describes music with more weight.

If that doesn’t bother you, going for Audio Pro speakers that less price than Sonos speakers is a good deal to start with. However, when it comes to multiroom-audio speakers, Sonos is still on the top and enjoying its monopoly along with the quality it provides. Moreover, you can use it as a wired as well as wireless speaker with the help of Wifi, Bluetooth, and Audio Pro Multiroom app. Like most Sonos speakers, it can also be mounted on the wall. The control panel at the top of the speaker allows easy access and clear controls. The only problematic issues are the poor customer service and not so consistent app. If you are just looking for using it wirelessly with a loud sound, this one it is. Also, it doesn’t connect with other series Audio Pro models too, i.e., to say it can only be used as multiroom speakers with its other C series speakers, namely C3, C5, and C5A.Our latest speaker tests include models from Audio Pro, Marley, Bluesound and Fresh 'n Rebel, including two stylish portable speakers that look ideal for using out and about, and two home Alexa speakers for controlling with your voice. It’s difficult to imagine a less stressful set-up procedure. The Audio Pro app seeks out all available products connected to the home network (with the option of adding those not already tethered manually), and they are then all there to manipulate as you wish.

The bugs are neither constant nor devastating, but the odd stutter and hang – particularly when pairing or splitting speakers – gets annoying in a short time. The Addon C3 has a 9cm woofer, it measures 10cm on the Addon C5 and Addon C5A, while the Addon C10 has the largest at 13cm. The power output from the Class D digital amplification rises in similar increments: 15W, 40W and 80W respectively. Both sport a cylindrical shape, and like the A10, the G10’s small footprint helps with positioning the unit. Given it has a trailing mains cable and no built-in battery, it will be restricted a little in the number of places it can reach, however. Bookshelves, tables and generally low-reaching shelves should be fine. That said, the power cable is decently long on its own. Buttons are located on the speakers’ top plate – there’s no remote included – and these have also been tweaked. Their placement has shifted towards the middle, with the Audio Pro logo now assigned towards the bottom. But it’s important to point out the Audio Pro is far from the most limited multi-room app out there, and its occasional bug and rudimentary nature is forgivable when you consider the price and sound quality of the speakers it's controlling.
