About this deal

The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. Information about whether there is a possibility for wall mounting according to the VESA Mounting Interface Standard (MIS).

None of these things matter much if a monitor doesn’t deliver in the performance department, however. There are definitely positives here: out of the box the MateView GT 27in reproduces 122% of the sRGB colour space and 87% of the DCI-P3 space, which means you’re getting vibrant colours from the off. Luminance peaks at around 396cd/m², which is very good for general use, even in brightly-lit environments. There's no getting away from the fact that pixel response is not this display's strongest point. However, when you're actually in-game, as opposed to forensically inspecting test animations and jiggling windows about looking for issues, it's actually pretty tolerable. These monitors are larger and pricier than the Huawei, granted, but another, less expensive favorite, the 2,560x1,440 Razer Raptor 27, covers 162% of the sRGB gamut, and the 32-inch Corsair Xeneon 32QHD165 does even more (194%), though neither monitor gets as bright as the others. Nailed it

Overall, the Huawei MateView GT isn’t a slam dunk as a pure gaming panel. The mediocre pixel response sees to that. But as an all-round, do-everything screen that looks great in both image quality and styling terms, it's got a lot going for it, especially when you consider the competitive pricing.

Information about the brightness of the screen. It is measured in candela per square metre (cd/m²). Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. Dimensions, weight and color Information about the dimensions and the weight of the specific model with and without stand as well as the colors, in which it is offered to the market. Width The operating altitude shows the maximum admissible altitude, at which the display will function flawlessly. Above this level it might not operate properly and/or might seize to function.Once connected to your laptop, desktop, or another device, you can use the touch slider on the soundbar to increase or decrease the volume. Double tapping the same touch slider will mute or unmute your device’s audio. Depending on your setup, I found two ideal ways to use the soundbar. The first is to increase the volume on your computer to 100% then use the touch slider to adjust the volume of the soundbar. To be honest, that is the most likely setup scenario for most people. If like me you have a keyboard with a volume knob, I found it easier to set the soundbar to 100% and then control the volume from my keyboard. The same goes if you’re used to controlling volume with the Fn keys on your keyboard. All in all, if you’re after an immersive ultra-wide gaming experience then the Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED (2023) is a very easy recommendation. So long as you have a powerful GPU in your rig to power its impressive resolution and frame rate then you can play all your favourite supported games with a hypnotic 32:9 aspect ratio. The monitor is VESA mountable as well, but if you do so, you’ll lose the soundbar altogether, defeating the purpose of getting a monitor with a soundbar.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 is one of the best curved monitors you can buy, especially for gaming given it’s the world’s first 4K panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. The same, however, is not true of the monitor’s color performance, which impresses in every picture mode. On its default settings (P3 mode), it registered a 0.32 Delta-E (the value representing how accurately the monitor displays colors compared with the source, with lower numbers being better), covered 135.2% of the sRGB color gamut, and covered an even more eye-popping 95.8% of the wider DCI-P3 color gamut. (All these measurements were taken using a calibrated Klein K10-A colorimeter and DisplayCal calibration software.) These numbers were occasionally bettered by other modes (Scenery had the best Delta-E, at 0.22, and FPS mode covered the most of both gamuts, with results of 139.1% for sRGB and 98.6% for DCI-P3), but were, with one exception, consistent throughout. The ratio between the horizontal and the vertical side of the display. Some of the standard and widely used aspect ratios are 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 and 16:10.Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases. To all intents and purposes, these are very good results indeed. Games look great on the MateView GT: the spectacular vistas and abundant neon shades of Star Wars Battlefront II are well represented and even positively ancient titles like my current sweetheart, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, benefit from the wide aspect ratio and vibrant colours.

The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. We found it to offer fabulous contrast, as reflected in the panel’s 5125:1 score in our tests. In line with this, the MateView GT impressed us with its wide colour space coverage of 99.2% sRGB and 86.9% DCI-P3. This translated into bold, bright colours in mainstream games, which made them look crisp and sharp in testing. The soundbar is, unsurprisingly, a huge step up from typical integrated monitor speakers, offering a lot more volume and vibrant presence that can, if not bust the walls of a standard-size room, at least meet them head-on. That said, it’s not stunning sound. There’s not a great deal of bass — it was detectable in only the flattest of ways listening to The Knife’s “Silent Shout”— and some distortion crept into recordings of soprano vocals when the volume was maxed out. You’re still best served by connecting a dedicated pair of good speakers to your PC or hooking the computer up to your living room’s sound system, but this is a perfectly serviceable solution for gamers who don’t fancy themselves off-hour audiophiles. Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. If you fancy one of the best curved monitors available, but are also on a budget, we think the MSI MPG Artymis 273CQRX-QD is a truly fantastic mid-range option.
