Value For Money: Triangle has done a great job at creating a speaker with great mass-market appeal. Triangle Borea BR09 Speakers (Pair) are 3-way floor-standing speakers; the largest of the Borea floor-stander range. The flagship BR09’s are perfect for larger sized rooms due to it’s delivery of low-end frequencies and low-power handling. Why the BR09 Speakers? Triangle Borea BR09 is a front-firing port speaker , which gives you more flexibility compared to rear firing speakers when you need to place it close against a wall or other surfaces.

Triangle Borea BR09 has external dimensions of (Height x Width x Depth) 43.1 x 8.1 x 12.3inch (1095.0 x 206.0 x 314.0mm ). To optimize the sound quality and imaging of the Borea BR09, it is recommended to place the speakers at least 2-3 feet away from the rear and side walls. Ideally, the speakers should be spaced 6-10 feet apart, and slightly toed-in towards the listening position. Experimenting with the distance and angle mаy help you achieve the desired soundstage and imaging. Additionally, ensure the tweeters are seated at ear level for optimal high-frequency performance. Base surface area of a loudspeaker may become a determining factor when the space in your room or desk is limited.Borea BR09 can handle a max power of 170 watts RMS from the amp the whereas Borea BR08 has a max power handling value of 150 watts RMS, 20 watts less than the Borea BR09. Under the veneer, there are big changes to the internal damping and bracing of the loudspeaker. Triangle claims that “Significant research has been carried out to reduce the internal vibrations in the cabinet.” This means Triangle uses perforated internal MDF stiffening panels that also use EVA foam gaskets between drive unit and cabinet, thus stiffening the transducer/cabinet combination. Triangle has dubbed this DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System), as it aims to reduce vibration of the suspension system of the drive unit interacting with the cabinet itself. We’ve had drive units bolted to the rear of the cabinet before, we’ve even had the driver bolted to a bar that connects to the rear cabinet, but to the best of my knowledge, a system that uses a foam gasket in this manner is a first. The bookshelf and the center channel models are equipped with rubber pads, protecting your speakers and limiting vibrations transmitted.

Triangle is not alone in offering floorstanders at a price level where AV buyers and two-channel buyers tend to bump into each other. The Borea BR09s are not so inexpensive that they occupy the AV basement, but neither in two-channel terms are they at all costly, especially for a three-way. The tweeter, meanwhile, utilises a design that's common throughout the Borea range. We experienced it last year in the Borea BR03 standmounters, and here it features the same unusual two-pronged phase plug, claimed to aid tonal evenness and dispersion. There’s an element of horn loading of the dome, too, due to the dished tweeter surround. With two 16cm bass drivers, the Borea BR08 has effortless power at the bottom end. With the bass power to do justice to full-scale music, you’re never left wanting more from these speakers – they’re always happy to get down and boogie!Speaker Cables with Banana Plugs: If you know the lenght of the cable you need, this is the easier option to connect your speakers with your amp. To some, the front of the speakers may look a tad unbalanced, with the ports a little cramped next to the mid-bass driver. However, with the magnetic speaker grilles, there is always the option of covering them up. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. In France I know which shops these loudspeakers will be bought in ( Boulanger (where they can currently be bagged for €499, which is outrageous value) and Darty) and Triangle have created a product that fits this market very well – a mid-priced product that shifts in numbers. In the UK I think the Borea will struggle a little more with regards to being bought in huge numbers, but that is not to say they are not a relevant product for this market too.

Sound Quality: A party speaker that likes to be turned up loud but one that can also do a good degree of subtlety too . In an ongoing pursuit of excellence, the profile of the cone was also redesigned to improve the rigidity and now provides an extended frequency response. Triangle Borea BR09 has a Bass Reflex type cabinet. Bass Reflex type loudspeakers (aka Ported, Vented or Reflex Port) have enclosures that uses a port, hole or vent cut into the cabinet. Ported designs are generally more efficient than the Sealed designs. Sensitivity93dB of Triangle Borea BR09 is considered a high sensitivity compared to average stereo speaker which makes Borea BR09 an easy to drive from Sensitivity perspective. If you are planning to power your speaker with a Tube amp which are generally very low power, the Triangle Borea BR09 will be a good choice. The Borea BR08 deliver a thrill ride with appropriate material. We play Nirvana’s Nevermind and they sound right at home: they punch hard, combining high levels of detail with an enviable ability to tie it all together to produce a cohesive and musical whole. Those twin bass drivers dig deep but, pleasingly, remain agile and articulate too.Next up -- Stone Sour’s “Zzyzx Rd.” Again, the image of Corey Taylor’s voice conjured by the Focals had a hair more three-dimensionality than through the Triangles. And focusing on the treble, I heard other small differences that favored the Focals. First, the BR08s made Taylor sound a fraction more sibilant, while the cymbal crash at 1:47 had more shimmer and delicacy, and took longer to fade away through the 806es. Still, the differences in treble performance were very small -- the Chora 806es’ exceptional tweeters rival what I hear from the beryllium tweeters of my Sopra No1s at ten times the price. Through the Choras, the decay of a well-recorded cymbal stroke is like very fine sand running through my fingers; the Borea BR08s provided nearly the same experience, this time with slightly larger grains of sand. Triangle Borea BR09 vs Triangle Borea BR08 Specs Table Detailed comparison of specifications General Triangle is well known in the Hi-Fi world for designing amazing sounding and looking products. The Triangle Borea range of speakers continues with Triangle’s high standards and attention to detail. The range features bookshelf, floorstanding and centre channel speaker models in a range of sizes to suit any space and provide superb audio.

Its three-way design allocates a transducer to each frequency range for a precise vocal reproduction and depth at low frequency, whilst maintaining a wide soundstage. The KEF Q750 is a popular floor-standing speaker known for its unique Uni-Q driver array, which aims to improve soundstage and imaging. While the Q750 delivers a refined and detailed sound, it may not offer the same level of bass extension аnd impact as the Borea BR09. On the other hand, the Q750’s Uni-Q driver configuration could appeal to those who prioritize imaging and soundstage.Driver complement: 25mm EFS silk dome tweeter; 1× 160mm cellulose paper midrange driver, 2× 160mm fibreglass bass units The Triangle Borea BR02 is the smallest and most compact speaker in the range making it perfect for small to medium spaces around the house. They are also designed to fit on most furniture pieces, such as a bookshelf, desktop or the dedicated S02/S04 speaker stands. The BR02 is a 2-way design featuring next-generation 25mm EFS silk dome tweeter and a 13cm transducer with a natural cellulose paper membrane. This is to deliver rich voice and instrument tones, whilst keeping a high bass level for its smaller size. Bass aside, the cohesion across the system is quite strong. The bright buzzing of the demented fairy in Pan's Labyrinth zips seamlessly between channels with insect-like naturalism, while voices shifting to the rear, such as in the opening scene of Gravity, are also nicely consistent.
