While we feel a little nervous about using this belt style around a glass carboy, this one did well on a standard 5-gallon glass carboy. It also is the only belt we found that had its own temperature controller, but sadly it didn’t work as well as we hoped.

Brew Belt / Heat Belt - For Use with Fermenters (Universal Brew Belt / Heat Belt - For Use with Fermenters (Universal

The TopBrewing™ heat belt is safe for use in the UK and is double insulated, it is supplied with a UK plug and has a CE mark and meets all UK regulations The Brew Belt can be used to support fermentation with any 5 Gallon/25 Litre Vessel. It is suitable for both beer and wine making. The Brew Belt is designed to maintain a constant temperature during fermentation. Whilst there is no temperature gauge the belt can be moved up or down the fermentation vessel to control the temperature. The lower down the vessel the higher the temperature control Fits fermenting vessels, 25 litre kegs, 1 gallon demijohns (Please note this belt will not fit around a Fast Ferment) Returned goods remain responsibility of customer until received by us. You must take reasonable care when returning goods to ensure they are not damaged in transit. Suitable particularly for glass demijohns and can be used in larger fermenting vessels such as our 25L vessel but is a little awkward to get the cable in/out. Please note that if an airtight fit is required with a fermenting vessel, a suitable hole for the bored 1 gallon bung would need to be drilled.We have found that in the winter, it just takes longer for us to get full fermentation. So, we started researching options for warming our fermenter. The temperature is set at around 28 on both appliances. This is a good temperature for cold weather brewing because due to heat loss and ambient temperatures it will not heat the entire brew all the way through at 28. It will more likely be around 24 ish. This Better Brew heater belt is suitable for 1 gallon demijohns to 33 litre fermenters. You can adjust the size by either the toggle or by the Velcro lining.

TopBrewing™ Heat Belt Pro with Variable Adjustable

If you like to brew in small batches or if you’re also making wine or kombucha at home, this is perfect for smaller fermenters. It fits nicely around a 3.5-gallon fermenter, with a bit of room to spare. The Better Brew heat belt is permanently on and has no thermostat, heat can be regulated by moving the Brew Belt higher or lower on the vessel – move it lower for more heat, or higher for less heat. The TopBrewing™ heat belt is a revolution in brewing temperature control, with its own temperature control dial you can regulate the heat unlike any other belt on the market. No more moving the belt up and down the demijohn to get the temperature right, just setup the thermometer on the outside of the demijohn and regulate the temperature using the dial. To decrease heating, move the belt up the fermenter. To increase heating, move the belt towards the bottom of the fermenter. This great heater belt is suitable for 1 gallon demijohns to 33 litre fermenters. You can adjust the size by either the toggle or by the Velcro lining.litre suitable for fermenting vessels (TE25) - https://www.home-brew-online.com/electrim-heating-tray-25ltr-model-te25/ There are a few options and each has it's advantages and disadvantages, so here is a bit about each and when to use them;

Heat pads are made to take the weight of the fermenter complete with wort in it, so around 25-30 kgs. If you do a double brew in a 60l fermenter you should think about using a heat belt.Also if you have a Stainless steel fermenter with a plastic base then a belt is best. The heat can be regulated by moving the Brew Belt higher or lower on the vessel. If it needs to be warmer lower the belt, if it is getting too warm, slide it up the outside of the vessel. The heat belt heater is designed to provide a consistent heat source to the fermenter. It is wrapped around the vessel and plugged into a power source. The heat belt heater will then provide a constant source of heat to maintain the desired temperature. Is uses 25w of electric to heat Advantages of a Heat Belt Heater for Home Brew This TopBrewing™ heater belt is suitable for 1 gallon demijohns to 33 litre fermenters. You can adjust the size by pulling the loop on the cable. The brew belt on the other hand has one side always exposed to the air and only heats at the level of which it is placed on the fermenter. The brew does circulate however due to the activity of the yeast. A con of the brew belt is that the plastic sleeve which the element sits in can become brittle after time, the heat pads seem to be sturdier for use winter after winter.

Suitable for use with 23 Litre & 33 Litre Fermenting vessels and 5 gallon kegs and smaller with a flat base
